Paige and Sam are still getting ready for the dance when she let's slip out that she loves him. He doesn't know how to respond. He isn't sure if he loves Paige. He gets advice from Zahid, which doesn't help much, and then from his parents. Sam uses three pieces advice as his litmus test to determine if he love Paige.
1. Is she the first person he thinks of when he wakes up in the morning?
2. Does he make her a better person?
3. Is she the first person he wants to tell when he has good news?
Sam answers yes to all three questions in different scenarios. Everything seems great until Julia shows up at Techopolis. She's there to buy a new TV but ends to helping Sam learn how to slow dance. He seems a little confused and dazed after that moment, like he is starting to feel things for Julia again and have doubts about loving Paige.
Elsa catches Casey and Ethan making out in Casey's bedroom. Ethan leaves. Elsa sticks around and shares a moment with Casey who feels the need to share that she is not ready for sex. Elsa is very happy that Casey shared that with her and looks forward to more sharing.
Elsa runs off and hangs out with Nick who is grieving over the loss of a friend, Meatball. There's no explanation of what happened to him but there is a memorial service at the bar where Nick works. Elsa doesn't remember who Meatball was. She tries to cheer Nick up but he isn't interested in sex and seems disappointed that she thought that was the appropriate response.
Casey gets into the Clayton Prep. She rides her bike over to see Ethan to tell him the good news. On the way there she spots her mom making out with Nick. They don't see her. She goes over to Ethan's place and despite what she told her mother earlier she has sex with him. He seems very happy afterward. She is very quiet.
Once again Doug is the father and husband but doesn't have an arc of his own.
I thought this was a very good episode. I wasn't sure how Elsa would get busted but I was pretty sure it would happen before the end of the season. I'm not sure that Sam and Paige's relationship is going to last. She is moving way too fast for him plus he shared a moment with Julia. I don't think anything is going to happen between Julia and Sam but if Paige finds out about Sam's feelings for Julia, well, it could get ugly.
