Volacor

Hub talks to his mother about his options. He doesn't feel like he's got much of a choice. He can work for the Devil or be returned to Hell. Hub does what he can to help his ex-wife get out of town with their son.

Lucky visits the house that Hub visited the night before and sees all the dead bodies. He finds the one guy that Hub locked in the trunk of the car.

Hub and his mother, who used to be a bounty hunter, go looking for the demon-possessed pastor. They visit the church but he isn't there. They find him, eventually. Hub's momma doesn't want him to kill the pastor. Hub tries to tranquilize him but when that doesn't work he resorts to using live ammo.

Star Trek: Lower Decks 1.06

Terminal Provocations

The Cerritos deals with a Drookmani scavenger ship that is trying to collect pieces of a Federation starship that has been drifting is space for over a century.

Fletcher, a lower decks ensign, messes with a computer core of the Cerritos, creates a huge problem, and then tries to do everything he can to avoid solving the problem or admitting to what he did. Mariner and Boimler work together to try and fix the mess that Fletcher created.

Rutherford tries to help Tendi learn how to spacewalk using a program he created for the holodeck. Something goes wrong. Rutherford and Tendi get trapped in the holodeck. They have to  run for their lives from Badgey, a computer generated helper that Rutherford created. Badgey looks like a life sized version of the badge that everyone wears on their chest. It turns homicidal when the holodeck malfunctions.

Bleach 1.19

Ichigo Becomes a Hollow!

Rukia gets a visit from Byakuya, her older brother, Renji is also there at the time. Byakuya tells her that she will be executed in 25 days for the crimes she committed. Renji is stunned.

Orihime and Chad train with the talking cat. It tells them that if they are going to travel with Ichigo to the Soul Society then they need to be able to activate their powers at any time at a moment's notice. Chad doesn't have much success. Orihime does but with some unintended side effects.

Ichigo continues to train with Urahara and his helpers. Time starts to run out. Ichigo has been warned that if he fails to transform into a Soul Reaper within 72 hours then he will become a Hollow and Urahara will have to kill him.

The first third of the movie turns out to be a dream that Nick was having. The second third of the movie turns out to be a dream that Nicole (Catherine Keener), the lead actress in the movie and in the movie that Nick is shooting, has. The final third of the movie isn't a dream but is equally bizarre.

The Six Million Dollar Man 1.03

Operation Firefly

Oscar sends Steve to Spain to look for Karen Abbott, the daughter of Dr. Samuel Abbott, a scientist who has invented a new laser. Dr. Abbott has disappeared. Oscar hopes that Karen, who is known to possess ESP, can help them to locate her father.

Steve makes contact with Karen. She is skeptical at first but after she uses her mental abilities she gets a premonition that her father is in the Everglades she agrees to help Steve find her father.

Steve and Karen survive an attempt on their life while they are in Spain and then travel to Florida. They travel into the Everglades with a guide but they are attacked during their first night in the swamp. Their guide is shot and killed.

Black Mirror 1.01

The National Anthem

A princess of the British royal family is kidnapped. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is given a choice, have sex with a pig on live television or the princess will be killed.

He tries to get the princess back without doing the livestream but in the end the PM goes through with the demand of the kidnapper. The princess is returned. The PM's ratings soar but his marriage suffers.

Thoughts

This episode is beyond bizarre. I tried watching it once, years ago, and gave up after 10 minutes. This time I stuck with it. I probably should have just skipped it. I was expecting some sort of a twist ending but I don't feel as if there was one.

The police arrived on the scene sooner than Sonny and Sal expected them.

BMO Noire

BMO looks for Finn's missing sock while Finn and Jake are away.

Most of this episode is in black and white or maybe sepia tones. Only the scenes that include Finn and Jake are in color. The voices for all the characters other than Finn and Jake are voiced by BMO or at least the same actor as BMO.

This was weird. I like how it parodies film noir but after a point I got very confused and started to lose interest.

Steven Universe 1.15

Onion Trade

Steven freaks out when he can't find Ranger Guy, one of his action figures. He wins some more action figures in a machine but not a new Ranger Guy. Most of the action figures he wins are called Dave Guy.

Steven finds out that Onion has a Ranger Guy. He tries to trade all his Dave Guys to Onion but Onion wants something else.

Thoughts

Onion does not talk. He's been in previous episodes but I can't recall him ever saying anything or playing as big a role in an episode as he does in this one.

I love how over the top ridiculous this episode gets.

This was funny. I liked this one. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are in this one but it is a very Steven focused episode.

Marcel, Suzanne, and the other communists find out that the police are making enquiries. They are worried that their contact at the cafe will get arrested. They draw straws to see who will go in to town to warn him. Marcel draws the short straw but Suzanne insists on accompanying him.

Antoine gets the name of Daniel Larcher from Anselme, the farmer. He gets Daniel to go with him, at gun point when Dr. Larcher refuses. He brings him out into the forest and makes him treat the wounded German soldier.

They open a juke joint in an abandoned saw mill but they run into some trouble on opening night.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 4.06

Legacy

The Enterprise rushes in to help a freighter that is in bad shape. The ship explodes just after the two men aboard the ship evacuate in an escape pod. The escape pod crash lands on Turkana IV. The two men are taken captive by one of the two gangs that are currently fighting for control of Turkana City.

Commander Riker leads an away team into the tunnels beneath the city where most people live now. They make contact with the Coalition one of the two factions that are currently at war. The Coalition offers to help them to recover the two crew men from the Alliance, the other faction.

Doctor Who (1963) 8.03.04

The Claws of Axos - Part Four

The Doctor and Jo escape from the Axon's spaceship. The Master claims to have done his part and tries to leave but the Brigadier won't let him go. 

The Doctor explains their work isn't done yet. The Axons are still a threat to the world. The Doctor and the Master work together to get the TARDIS operational. The Doctor explains that the Time Lords blocked his memory so that he is unable to fix the TARDIS and leave Earth. The Master agrees to help him.

The Doctor tricks the Master into thinking that he wants to escape Earth but when the TARDIS rematerializes it is inside the Axon spaceship. The Doctor cuts a deal with the Axons. The Master figures out that the Doctor is trying to double cross the aliens and warns the Axons.

Star Trek: Lower Decks 1.05

Cupid's Errant Arrow

The Cerritos works with the Vancouver to help implode a moon that is threatening to destroy a planet. Captain Freeman has to negotiate with the locals who are opposed to the destruction of the moon for various reasons despite the danger it poses.

Tendi and Rutherford go gaga over the T-88, the latest tricorder, and almost get permanently transferred to the Vancouver.

Boimler gets to spend some time with Barb, his girlfriend. Mariner is instantly suspicious of Barb and spends the rest of the episode trying to figure out why Barb is interested in Boimler.

Inuyasha 1.25

Naraku's Insidious Plot

Naraku helps Sango, who is injured by giving her a shard of the Shikon Jewel. It doesn't heal her but it helps to distract her from the pain.

Kagome, Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo bury the dead villagers. They investigate the cave behind the village. It is where the Shikon Jewel was made, according to Myoga. They are trying to enter the cave, which is guarded by magic, when Sango shows up.

Sango and Inuyasha fight but she proves to be no match for him in her weakened state. Inuyasha and the others spot Naraku. They try to tell Sango not to trust Naraku but she doesn't listen until after she has collapsed from exhaustion.

The Bondsman 1.01

Pot O'Gold

Bondsman Hub Halloran (Kevin Bacon) has his throat slit and dies while he is trying to take someone into custody. He dies but he comes back. He goes after the guys who slit his throat and took his truck.

Once he finds them, they point him in the direction of Lucky Callahan, the guy who hired them. Lucky is dating Hub's ex-wife, which makes things a little complicated. Lucky gets away and Hub goes looking for Lucky again only to discover that he (Hub) has been led astray.

Hub has received multiple calls from an organization called Pot O'Gold while he was looking for Lucky. Hub gets home only to discover a woman from Pot O'Gold talking to his mother. She explains to Hub that they brought him back from Hell and that now he works for the Devil.

Wonder Woman 1.08

The Last of the Two Dollar Bills

Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor cross paths in Washington, DC with Wotan, Germany's top spy, as he is preparing to steal the plates for the two dollar bill, from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Wotan brings two other spies with him who are disguised as Hank, a federal employee, and Maggie, his girlfriend who runs a café across the street from the Bureau of Printing and Engraving.

Thoughts

Maggie was played by Barbara Anderson. She doesn't have a very long list of screen credits according to IMDb but I have seen her in two other things in the past 13 months: The first Six Million Dollar Man TV movie and an episode of Star Trek (1966) (1.13 - The Conscience of the King).

The Phil Silvers Show 4.10

Bilko and the Chaplain

Bilko is desperate to get to San Franscisco to visit his new girlfriend, Sherry. Colonel Hall sends the chaplain of Camp Fremont to San Francisco to keep an eye on Bilko while he is in San Francisco.

Thoughts

This episode felt like it was slapped together. It had too many moving pieces. It didn't fully make sense to me or satisfy me.

Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie) grew up poor in Portland, Oregon. LaVona (Allison Janney), Tonya's mother worked as a waitress. Tonya started dating and ultimately married Jeff Gillooly (Sebastian Stan) the first man she fell in love with. Tonya and Jeff had a rocky relationship. He was physically and verbally abusive. They split apart and came back together more than once.

Tonya went through a couple coaches. She didn't have much money. Her clothes weren't up to the level of the stage on which she performed. She wasn't the image that the US figure skating association wanted even though she was technically one of the top women in the sport in the early 1990s.

Adventure Time 4.16

Burning Love

Finn has the hots for Flame Princess. Jake encourages Finn to pursue Flame Princess. Bubblegum Princess fears what will happen if Finn kisses Flame Princess. Jake thinks that BP still has the hots for Finn even though she rejected him in the past.

Thoughts

I found the story in this episode to be a little lacking but I like the character interactions.

Steven Universe 1.14

Lars and the Cool Kids

Steven and Lars hang out with the Cool Kids (Buck, Jenny, Sour Cream). Lars really wants the cool kids to like him. Steven has no awareness about seeming cool.

Thoughts

There's not much in the way of plot here. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are only in the very beginning of this episode. THe rest of the episode is all Steven, Lars, and the Cool Kids.

Antoine and his friends are still in the woods. Antoine makes them train, rain or shine, even though they don't have any weapons. They scrounge for food. Claude, Antoine's friend who studied acting, suggests that they put on a play in the hopes that it will raise spirits. Antoine is aginst it but many of the others are in favor of it.

Chassagne pushes Marchetti to make some progress on finding Antoine and his guys. Chassagne thinks that they are are the ones who killed the three German soldiers who were killed by the communists. Chassagne knows that Marchetti is the one who killed a German border soldier near the Swiss border. Chassagne knows of Judith and that she is in a refugee camp outside of Switzerland and threatens to have her picked up and deported to Poland.

Doctor Who (1963) 8.03.03

The Claws of Axos - Part Three

The Doctor and Jo are taken prisoner and Bill Filer is knocked unconscious by the Axons. The Axons interrogate the Doctor about time travel. They torture first him and then Jo before he finally gives them what they need to allow them travel through time.

The Brigadier reasserts control of the situation and gets the Ministry of Defense to let UNIT take charge, instead of Mr. Chinn. 

The Master, wearing a disguise, tricks Sgt Benton into letting him into the TARDIS, which is in very bad shape. He's very disappointed by what he finds but he does his best to get it back in working order.

Star Trek: Lower Decks 1.04

Moist Vessel

Captain Freeman tries to make Ensign Mariner's life miserable so that she will ask for a transfer. Freeman starts by assigning her to all the worst assignments on board the Cerritos but when that doesn't work she promotes her.

Tendi ruins a ceremony that Lieutenant JG O'Connor, another crew member, is performing. It was supposed to end with him ascending to a higher plane of existence. She tries to make it up to him. She tries to get him back on track but he refuses to accept her suggestions or gifts.

Everything goes haywire aboard the Cerritos while it is helping the Merced to tow an ancient generation ship. Molecular fluid from aboard the generaion ship spreads to the Cerritos and the Merced. The fluid is capable of creating life from inorganic matter.

Bleach 1.18

Reclaim! The Power of the Shinigami

Ichigo mourns the fact that no one seems to remember Rukia as the school year ends. He later learns that Orihime remembers her and wonders why no one else does.

Rukia, imprisoned in the Soul Society, gets a visit from Renji who unsuccessfully tries to joke about her possible fate.

Orihime, Chad, and the talking cat visit with Uryū. They try to get him interested in helping Rukia but he is too busy worrying about how he could have lost his competition with Ichigo.

Ichigo starts to train with Urahara and his followers. The episode ends with Urahara giving him 72 hours to escape from a deep pit while his arms are tied behind his back. If he is unsuccessful then he will turn into a Hollow.

The Orville 2.09

Identity - Part 2

The crew of the Orville are held prisoner in the shuttle bay. The Kaylons eventually take the bridge crew to a meeting room. The Kaylons explain to them how it is going to work. The bridge crew doesn't like it but they don't feel as though they have a choice.

The Roosevelt, another ship from Earth, approaches the Orville. The bridge crew to the Orville are forced to act like nothing is wrong. Captain Mercer talks to Captain Marcos and tells him that everything is good but he sneaks in a code phrase that tells Captain Marcos that all is not good.

Carol "Kansas" Richman (Ella Raines) tries to figure out who framed Scott Henderson (Alan Curtis), her boss, for the murder of his wife. All the evidence seems to point to Scott being the murderer but Carol is convinced, possibly in part because she is in love with him, that he in innocent.

Scott's alibi is that he was went to a show with a woman whom he met in a bar. He didn't get the woman's name (the titular phantom lady) and has no way of contacting her to back him up. He gets put on trial and sentenced to death.

Adventure Time 4.15

Sons of Mars

Magic Man, a criminal from Mars, uses his abilities to make himself look like Jake (and Jake look like him) in order to evade capture by the Martian authorities. Finn travels to Mars to save Jake before he gets executed in Magic Man's place.

Thoughts

This episode was lots of fun and kind of crazy. I like it very much.

Steven Universe 1.13

So Many Birthdays

Steven learns that Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl don't celebrate birthdays. He decides to throw them each a birthday party. They appreciate the gesture but they don't understand why he is going to the trouble.

Steven doesn't take well to the rejection of the birthday parties. He walks through town and starts aging rapidly until he is a very old man. 

Thoughts

This episode felt half-baked. There wasn't quite enough here to satisfy me.

Marie Germain and the men who accompany her don't stick around the camp very long. She pulls Antoine aside, after he steps forward as the leader of the group, and advises him to move the camp because otherwise they will be found by the police or the Germans.

Marchetti is warned by Delage, one of his men, that Loriot, another of his men, might put the pieces together and figure out that he killed the German border guard, see 4.12 (The Border).

Doctor Who (1963) 8.03.02

The Claws of Axos - Part Two

The Doctor is reunited with Jo. She tells them that she could have sworn that she heard Bill Filer's voice and that she was looking for him when they found her. The Axon leader insists that she must have been hallucinating.

Chinn get authorization from the Ministry of Defense and with some help from the British Army takes charge of the situation. He makes a deal with the Axons and gets a big chunk of Axonite. He hands it over to Winser. The Brigadier, the Doctor, and Jo are arrested for trying to interfere with Chinn's plans for the Axonite.

The Master and Bill Filer escape temporarily from the grips of the Axons but are quickly recaptured. The Axons make a duplicate of Filer and send him after the Doctor who they have figured out is a Time Lord, just like the Master.

Star Trek: Lower Decks 1.03

Temporal Edict

Boimler rats out the rest of the crew when he is cornered by Captain Freeman in the turbolift. She wants to know about buffer time. He explains it to her and she reacts by making it against the rules to use buffer time. This drives everyone nuts except Boimler who loves it.

Mariner goes on an away mission to Gelrak V with Commander Ransom and several other members of the crew. They accidentally insult the locals, in part because of Captain Freeman's temporal edict. The people of Gelrak imprison them and insist that either Mariner or ransom will have to fight Vindor, the Genrakian champion.

Inuyasha 1.24

Enter Sango, the Demon Slayer

Sango, her father, her brother, and a few other demon slayers are tricked into fighting a spider demon. All the demon slayers are killed except Sango.

Kagome, Inuyasha, Shippo, and Miroku find the village where Sango lived. They came looking for Sango when they heard that she had a shard of the Shikon Jewel. The village was devastated the night before by a horde of demons summoned by Naraku. Kagome and the others bury the dead villagers.

Sango is recovering when she hears about what happened to her village and about a half-demon named Inuyasha. Naraku tells her that Inuyasha is the one who destroyed her village. She vows to get revenge.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 4.12

The Wounded

The Enterprise pursues the Phoenix, another Starfleet starship which has been accused of destroying a Cardassian scientific outpost. The pursuit occurs in Cardassian space.

A peace treaty between Starfleet and the Cardassians has recently been agreed upon by both sides. Captain Picard allows three Cardassians on board the Enterprise to monitor the apprehension of the Phoenix.

Chief O'Brien served under Captain Maxwell, who now commands the Phoenix. He's convinced that whatever Captain Maxwell did he did for a good reason even though he knows that Captain Maxwell's wife and child were killed along with dozens of others in a Cardassian raid on Setlik III.

The Orville 2.08

Identity - Part 1

Isaac stops functioning. The crew of the Orville can't figure out how to help him. Captain Mercer, after consulting with the Admiral Halsey, sets a course for Kaylon 1, Isaac's home world.

The Orville arrives on Kaylon 1. They bring the comatose Isaac out of the ship with them. The Kaylons bring Isaac back online. Captain Mercer expresses thanks and invites Isaac to rejoin them aboard the Orville but Isaac says his mission is over.

Ty and Marcus, Dr. Finn's sons, are disappointed to learn that Isaac will not be coming back to the Orville. Isaac explains his reasons to them in person but it doesn't make them feel any better. Ty takes it especially hard. Dr. Finn is also very hurt by Isaac's decision to leave the Orville.

The Phil Silvers Show 4.09

Bilko's Allergy

Bilko gets excited when he finds out about a high stakes poker game. His hopes for winning big at the poker game are dashed when he learns that he is allergic to playing cards. Bilko tries finding a work around but soon discovers that it isn't the playing cards that are making him sneeze.

Thoughts

I love the moment when Bilko learns that he is allergic to playing cards. Captain Masters' diagnosis of Bilko's allergy turns out to be incorrect. The allergy is part of the episode but it isn't the focus of the episode.

Prince Ashitaka, is forced to leave his people after he is infected by a curse that had previously infected a giant boar. Ashitaka reluctantly slew the boar when it threatened to destroy his village. He was unable to avoid contact with the beast thus leading to his condition.

Adventure Time 4.14

Card Wars

Jake is down in the dumps because no one will play Card Wars with him. Finn offers to play a game. Jake is ready to beat Finn really badly but Finn turns out to be really good at the game.

Thoughts

I liked how crazy the mechanics of what was supposed to be a card game turned out to be. I also liked how crazy the stakes of the game got to be once Finn realized how seriously Jake was taking the game.

This was a fun episode.

Steven Universe 1.12

Giant Woman

Steven learns that Amethyst and Pearl can fuse together into a giant woman named Opal. He asks them to show him, but they don't want to do it. Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven go on a mission together to retrieve the Heaven Beetle. Garnet goes on a solo mission to retrieve the Earth Beetle.

Thoughts

Steven sings a song in this episode about wanting to see Opal. He does get to meet her but it isn't until Amethyst and Pearl see him get eaten by a giant bird.

There was a goat in this episode that Steven named Steven, Jr. The goat was also swallowed by the giant bird but I don't recall seeing it get rescued by Opal.

This was a good episode.

Antoine and his new friend run from the police. They take shelter in a farm but the farmer kicks them out. They are joined by another man who is also seeking to avoid being sent to Germany. They head out into the forest where they find a handful of young men camping out. No one has any food.

Marcel, Suzanne, and the other communists stop a German supply truck. Marcel and one of the other men are disguised as French policemen. It doesn't go well. They were hoping just to take some weapons but there were more German soldiers in the back of the truck. Two of the Communists and three of the German soldiers get killed.

Bleach 1.17

Ichigo Dies!

Renji talks a lot and prepares to deliver the killing blow but Ichigo comes back to life. His spiritual energy overwhelms Renji but then Byakuya, Rukia's older brother steps in and moves so fast that Ichigo only feels the effects of what Byakuya does.

Ichigo's Zanpakutō, his sword, is broken in two and he is left in a pool of his own blood. Rukia agrees to leave, to return to the Soul Society, with Byakuya and Renji. Byakuya relents and leaves Ichigo in pool of blood without delivering the killing blow. Rukia tells Ichigo not to come after her.

Ichigo wakes up later in the abode of Uraha. Ichigo wants to go after Rukia immediately. Urahara agrees to help him travel to the Soul Society only if he will train with him first for 10 days.

Carl and Elsa Span are happily married when she gets attacked while he is at work. Elsa gone into shock following the attack. Carl swears he will get revenge on the man who attacked his wife.

Carl takes Elsa out for a drive, once she feels a little better. The doctor said it would do her some good to get a change of scenery. They are driving through town when Elsa sees a man. She says, "that's him!"

The Claws of Axos - Part One

A UFO enters the Earth's atmosphere. Mr. Chinn, an investigator from the Ministry of Defense, is present at UNIT and takes an interest in the UFO to the point of calling in a missile strike to blow the UFO out of the sky. The UFO crash lands on Earth near the NUTON Power Complex before it can be intercepted by the missiles.

The Doctor, the Brigadier, Captain Yates, Sergeant Benton, Jo Grant, and a few squads of UNIT soldiers rush to investigate the UFO. A couple people get to the UFO before them. One is a man on a bicycle. The other is Bill Filer, an American from Washington HQ who was there to see the Brigadier. Both of them get pulled into the ship by tentacles.

Envoys

Boimler and Mariner escort a Klingon to a peace conference. The Klingon gets drunk and steals the shuttle after they land. Boimler and Mariner spend most of the rest of the mission looking for the Klingon and the shuttle.

Rutherford tries his hand at jobs aboard the Cerritos other than engineering. He's great at some of them, sucks at most of the others, and ultimately decides to return to engineering. His whole reason for trying the other jobs was in the hopes that he would be able to spend more time with Tendi.

Stuart

Otto gains access to Stuart, a man suffering from Alzheimer's. Otto helps Stuart to regain his memories, to dispel the fog that has clouded his thoughts. Otto reveals that Stuart robbed him of some of his memories years ago. Stuart at first denies it but later admits to it.

Otto wants to know why Stuart did what he did to him. Stuart tells him about his life, about his relationship with a son he had, a son he lost.
