Carlos (José Ferrer) and Tommy (Michael Ontkean) meet by chance in Jamaica. Carlos likes to gamble. He suggests that he is willing to gamble his Jaguar in exchange for the little finger on Tommy's left hand. All Tommy has to do to win the bet is light his lighter 10 consecutive times without fail.

If Tommy successfully completes the bet then he gets the Jaguar but if on any of the ten attempts he fails to light the lighter then Carlos will chop off the little finger on his left hand. Carlos ties down Tommy's left hand on a table with the little finger extended. Tommy uses his right hand to light the lighter.

They find evidence within a year that the older niece is dead but they keep looking for Debbie, the younger one.

Hillman blames Delaney, who disagrees with HIllman's assessment of what happened the night before but he is more than happy to settle their disagreement with gunplay.

Teen Titans 4.04

Cyborg the Barbarian

Cyborg is showing off his latest entertainment system to the other Titans when something happens and he gets zapped 5000 years into the past. He arrives in the middle of a battle between humans and green bug like creatures. He tries at first to stay out of the battle for fear of changing history. He finally joins the fray when he sees someone, the leader of the humans about to get killed.

A Model Family 1.08

Episode 8

Deuk-soo asks Dong-ha about the bodies. Dong-ha tells him that the drug cartel buried the bodies in the backyard. Word comes in that the hospital is ready for Hyun-woo but it is going to cost a lot of money, which the Park family does not have.

Kwang-chul sends Dong-ha and Eun-joo to Busan with the money. They are supposed to hand it off to representatives of the top level drug cartel. Kang-jun reaches out to Dong-ha and tries to convince him to hand over the money. Dong-ha and Eun-joo argue about what to do.

Deuk-soo does some sniffing around while everyone is away. He breaks into the house that Joo-hyun and the police have been using to keep an eye on the Park family and Kwang-chul and his men. Deuk-soo later takes Hyun-woo and Yeon-woo to the hospital.

Charlie Miller (Lawrence Pressman) buys Kenny, his son, a crystal radio kit for his birthday. He discovers, after they assemble it and turn it on, that it is picking up signals from 1942.

Among the signals the radio receives is one from a German submarine that mentions in its message that it is targeting the very ship that Charlie's father was on when he was killed in the North Atlantic. Charlie was two years old at the time.

Charlie sends a message back to the Germans providing bad information to the Germans. Charlie wakes up the next day to discover that his father is still alive but his wife and son are gone, and the Germans won World War II.

Holly tries to make it as an actress before turning to writing. Mickey, Hannah's first husband, gives up his career in television and tries to find himself.

Solar Opposites 1.07

Terry and Korvo Steal a Bear

Tim escapes from the Duke's prison. He is reunited with Cherie. He thought she was dead. Together they lead a rebellion against the Duke. The rebellion is successful but the Duke gets away, to the outside world. Tim and Cherie get into a fight. He stabs her and tosses her body into the outside world.

Thoughts

Terry, Korvo, Yumyulack, and Jessie are in this episode but they are only seen from the perspective of the people in the Wall. They do not have any lines.

I have a feeling that Cherie is not dead and that she will be back.

This was a fun episode. I like it very much.

Police detective Cliff Herlihy (Paul Kelly), Vincent's brother-in-law, wants to write off the story as a bad dream but then evidence starts to accumulate that indicate that there might be something to his wife's younger brother's story.

Colony in Space - Part Three

The Doctor outwits Morgan and then gets control of the robot. He returns to the colony. 

IMC formally announces their presence to the colonists. Dent claims that IMC has the only proper claim to the minerals on the planet. Ashe, the leader of the colonists objects. IMC sends out a call for an adjudicator to settle the matter.

Jo and Winton (one of the colonists) sneak into the IMC spaceship. They are taken prisoner by IMC security. Winton escapes but he is hunted down by IMC guards. He escapes from them with some help from Caldwell. He returns to the colony and tells them about what happened. 

The Twilight Zone (1959) 1.08

Time Enough At Last

Henry Bemis (Burgess Meredith) loves to read but has trouble finding the time to read. He tries reading at home but his wife gets in the way. He tries reading at work but his boss gets in the way.

Henry is on his lunch break in the vault of the bank where he works. When a hydrogen bomb falls on the city where he lives, leveling it. He survives but everyone else is killed. The city is in ruins.

Henry finds enough food to last him for years but he doesn't find any other survivors. He is depressed. He finds a gun and is contemplating killing himself but then he notices that he is right next to what is left of the public library.

Henry finds lots of books to read. He is happy once again but then he drops his glasses and they break.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 1.24

Conspiracy

Captain Picard is summoned to a secret meeting by Captain Walker Keel, an old friend. He is warned not to tell anyone about the meeting. Picard has the Enterprise divert from its current mission and head to Dytallix. Picard beams down by himself and meets with Keel and two other captains, Tryla Scott and Rixx. They warn him that something is amiss and to keep his eyes and not tell anyone about the meeting.

Attack on Titan 1.10

Response: The Struggle for Trost, Part 6

Eren, Armin, and Mikasa ponder over what to do while the smoke is still obscuring them. Eren detaches himself from the remains of the Titan. He tells Mikasa and Armin about the key that his father gave him. Eren turns to Armin and asks him to convince the captain of the guard that he is not a threat to humanity.

Armin does his best to talk the captain of the guard into believing them but the man is not prepared to listen. He is getting ready to have the guards open fire on them when General Pyxis shows up and takes over the situation. He has the troops stand down.

General Pyxis pulls Eren, Armin, and Mikasa aside. Armin has a plan for how to proceed but it depends on Eren transforming into a Titan. The general asks Eren if he will go with Armin's plan. Eren says that he will.

And All Through the House

Elizabeth kills Joseph, her husband, on Christmas Eve. She is getting ready to dispose of his body by throwing it down a well when she gets interrupted my a man dressed like Santa Claus. He is a killer who has escaped from a mental institution and has already killed four women while on the loose. He tries to make her victim number five but she fights back and knocks him out.

She is about to mutilate her husband's body, to make it look like Killer Santa Claus did it, when she discovers that Killer Santa Claus is still alive and trying to get in the house through the window to her daughter's room.

The Orville 2.12

Sanctuary

Bortus helps a couple Moclans who are transporting a female child to go undetected while aboard the Orville. He gets dressed down by Captain Mercer after the Moclans have left for not sharing the secret with him. Ed points out that Bortus did not verify that the Moclans were on the up and up, he just accepted their word that they were being honest with him.

Topa, Bortus' son, has trouble in school after he shoves a girl and calls her inferior because she is a girl. Tope learned such behavior from Klyden. This makes Bortus angry and he has words with Klyden after sending Topa to his room.

The Outer Limits (1963) 2.08

Wolf 359

Professor Jonathan Meredith (Patrick O'Neal) uses a piece of material that drifted to Earth from one of the planets in the Wolf 359 system to conduct an experiment. He is trying to grow life on a miniature planet at a super-accelerated pace. It seems to work but as the life on the planet in his lab grows and thrives something else happens.

A malevolent force that has a spectral appearance arises from the miniature planet. It scares Professor Meredith, Ethel (his wife), and Pete (his assistant). It bothers Jonathan enough that he eventually sends Edith to the east coast. It doesn't bother him enough to stop the experiment which proves to be almost fatal for himself and possibly others.

Closed Circuit

starring Robert Webber, Mary Frann, Richard Anderson

directed by Rick Rosenthal

Television news reporter Greg Conway (Robert Webber) is concerned about Arthur Desmond, one of his colleagues. Producer Linda Beckwith (Mary Frann) tells him not to worry about it. She says Desmond is fine and has been broadcasting from a remote location so that he can stay close to his family. Greg finally gets a call from Arthur who reassures him that everything is okay but Greg doubts that it was really Arthur on the phone.

Greg later learns that he was right, everything is not normal. The Arthur he has been seeing on TV isn't really Arthur but a computer generated copy of his colleague. Bill Bellamy (Richard Anderson), the chairman of the board of the corporation for which Greg works, approaches him and tells him all about it.

The Phil Silvers Show 4.18

Bilko's Credit Card

Bilko starts a credit card business, the G.I.'s Gourmet Guild (GGG). Everything is going well with the scheme until it comes time to collect and most of the soldiers have been temporarily deployed. Bilko impersonates a British officer in order to convince the general in charge of the deployment to bring the soldiers back to Camp Fremont.

Thoughts

Colonel Hall does not appear in this episode.

Al Lewis played the part of Mike the bartender in this episode. He is probably best known for playing Grandpa on The Munsters. This is the first of three episodes of The Phil Silvers Show in which he appeared.

I wasn't crazy about this episode.

The Long Season 1.07

Episode 7

Hualin, 2016. Gong Biao encounters a man while he is buying a lottery ticket. He follows the guy back to his car. It looks like cab that had the same license plate as his car. Biao grabs the guy and holds him while he calls Wang Xiang and Ma Desheng. They turn the guy over to the police and Gong Biao gets his taxi cab back.

Xiang, Biao, and Ma Desheng go out to celebrate but an argument breaks out. Xiang thinks that the person who was hit by the cab was also the one who killed Yang. He thinks that person is Fu Weijun, Shen Mo's brother. Xiang refuses to accept the official story that Yang committed suicide. Ma Desheng disagrees. They both wind up walking out of the restaurant in different directions. Biao is left sitting alone.

Premonition

Kim Stanger returns home after being away for four years only to find that everyone seems to be concealing something from him. He goes home to see his father but can't seem to locate him. Perry, Kim's brother, tells him that their father died of a heart attack while playing tennis but Kim finds evidence that seems to contradict what Perry told him. Kim keeps digging until he finally finds the truth.

Barbra and her brother are visiting their father's grave when a creepy looking man attacks them. Barbra gets away but her brother does not. She tries escaping in their car but her brother had the keys.

Barbra, in a state of shock over what just happened, makes her way to a nearby house. She is soon joined by Ben who was also attacked by weird looking people. He boards up the house from the inside. She is too out of it to be of any help. More weird looking people surround the house.

Teen Titans 4.03

Birthmark

Slade returns on Raven's birthday. He is stronger, more powerful than he has even been before in the past. He can fly. He can pass through solid objects.

The Teen Titans attempt to stop him. Raven stops time. The other Titans are also frozen but Slade is not. He continues to pursue her. It is her that he is after. There is something that he wants her to do but he isn't clear as to what that something is but she refuses to do it.

Slade reports in to someone towards the end of the episode. The episode ends with the Titans celebrating Raven's birthday. Raven knows that what happened was just a prelude to something bigger, more deadly.

Episode 7

Kwang-chul talks to Yong-soo early in the episode. Towards the end of the episode he is called to a meeting in Busan.

Park Deuk-soo hangs out until Eun-joo and then Dong-ha return home. Deuk-soo is Dong-ha's father. Dong-ha explains to Eun-joo why he told her that his father was dead. Dong-ha tries to get rid of his father but Deuk-soo insists on sticking around. He later tricks Eun-joo into letting him use her phone. He makes a copy of most of the stuff (messages, photos, videos) on her phone. 

Black Mirror 2.03

The Waldo Moment

Comedian Jamie Salter voice of Waldo (a foul mouthed, cartoon, blue bear) gets talked into using the bear to heckle incumbent politician Liam Monroe during an election. Liam pushes back at his employer's demands but keeps doing his job, heckling Monroe, until Salter decides he's had enough. His employer takes over the character and turns Waldo into a worldwide phenomenon.

Thoughts

Tobias Menzies played the part of Liam Monroe. I know him best from HBO's Rome, where he played the part of Brutus, but I may have seen him in a few other things. I didn't recognize any of the other actors in this episode.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 4.20

Qpid

Captain Picard prepares for the arrival of an assemblage of archaeologists aboard the Enterprise. He returns to his quarters only to find one of the archaeologists in his quarters, Vash.

Jean-Luc and Vash are sharing a cup of tea, in his quarters the next morning, when they are interrupted by Doctor Crusher. She takes Vash on a tour of the Enterprise. While they are in Ten Forward they run into Commander Riker. Doctor Crusher is called away on business. Riker takes over escorting Vash around the Enterprise.

Solar Opposites 1.06

The P.A.T.R.I.C.I.A. Device

Korvo and Terry turn the basement into a man cave. They feel that something is missing, a woman to nag them about the man cave, so they build themselves one. Well, Korvo builds one. He calls it P.A.T.R.I.C.I.A. and programs it to hate the man cave. He programs it a little too well and it goes around destroying man caves and murdering men.

Jesse is given an assignment in school to shatter the glass ceiling and strike a blow against the patriarchy. She tries joining the boys football and lacrosse teams only to discover that they are more than happy to have her. She decides that she needs to take drastic measures and manufacture a glass ceiling for herself to smash. That plan turns out worse than her previous ones.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 6.14

Face of the Enemy

Counselor Troi wakes up on the Romulan Warbird Khazara. She was captured while attending a conference and surgically altered to appear like a Romulan. She is now Major Rakal of the Tal Shiar, a Romulan intelligence service. All this is explained to her by Sub-Commander N'Vek a member of the Romulan resistance who needs her help to get three high level members of the Romulan resistance to safety.

Troi doesn't like it but she goes along with N'Vek. She plays the cards she has been dealt and for a time is able get the captain of the Khazara, Commander Toreth, to listen to her and follow her instructions. Toreth, as a member of the Romulan military, bristles at having to take orders from the Romulan secret police.

Repeat offender H.I. McDunnough (Nicholas Cage) gets married to police officer Edwina (Holly Hunter). They try to have a baby only to learn that they cannot. They hear about Nathan and Florence Arizona, a couple that just had quintuplets. The McDunnoughs sneak in and take one of the babies, rename it, and keep it for themselves.

Hi and Ed's problems multiply when Gale and Evelle Snoats, two guys Hi met while he was serving time a few years earlier, escape from prison and turn to them for help. Hi tries to be accommodating but Ed wants them out of their home, ASAP.

Doctor Who (1963) 8.04.02

Colony in Space - Part Two

The robot stops. It belongs to the Interplanetary Mining Corporation and it accompanied by Caldwell who works for IMC. They go back to the IMC spaceship which just arrived on Uxarieus.

Captain Dent, the leader of the IMC mission on Uxarieus, has decided that they need to scare off the colonists. Morgan, another IMC employee, is responsible for the deaths of the two colonists the night before. Morgan is put in charge of taking the Doctor back to the site where they found him.

Norton, a half mad colonist from a different colonization mission, kills one of the primitives and a colonist. He claims that the primitive killed the colonist. Norton killed the primitive in self-defense, or so he claims.

X: The Man with X-Ray Eyes (1963)

Doctor James Xavier (Ray Milland) tests experimental eyedrops on himself. The eyedrops give him x-ray vision. He can see through walls, clothing, and other objects. He continues to take the drops until his vision becomes unbearable.

Doctor Xavier accidentally kills a friend by pushing him out a window. He goes on the run and starts working in a carnival to make ends meet. He gets strong armed into leaving the carnival by Crane, one of the other carnies. Crane has a crazy scheme to make money by using Xavier's x-ray vision to diagnose poor people's health problems.

The Orville 2.11

Lasting Impressions

The Orville transports a time capsule that includes a mobile phone from 2015. Gordon and John help to unlock the phone. They watch one of the videos that was saved on the phone. It belonged to a woman in her mid to late-20s names Laura.

Gordon becomes curious about Laura. He wants to know more about her so he takes the phone to the simulator and has it make a simulation that uses all of her messages, videos, and vocal recordings to recreate her and her world.

Bortus discovers cigarettes in the time capsule. He has the food syntheziser make him more cigarettes. Bortus and Klyden start smoking and are soon addicted to cigarettes.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 6.02

Realm of Fear

The Enterprise finds the USS Yosemite, a science vessel, which was observing a plasma stream in the Igo sector. The Yosemite is caught in the plasma stream and fails to respond to communications from the Enterprise. Captain Picard wants to send a team over to investigate but doesn't want the Enterprise to enter the plasma stream or to send a shuttle into it.

Lieutenant Reginald Barclay comes up with a way to get over to the Yosemite via transporter. Lieutenant Commander La Forge asks Barclay to join himself, Commander Riker, Doctor Crusher, and Lieutenant Worf on the away team. The team members have to beam over one at a time due to the current conditions. Reg loses his cool when it is his turn to beam over.

The Long Season 1.06

Episode 6

Hualin, 2016. Bei notices that Xiang's sweater has holes in it. He suggests that he could buy him a new one. 

Hualin, 1997. Xiang tries on the sweater for the first time. Yang bought it for him. It is made of wool. He finds it itchy and takes it off. 

Shen Dongliang, Shen Mo's uncle, goes to her boss at the hotel and explains that he doesn't want her working there anymore. Yang sees the exchange and asks his boss what that was about. His boss explains who he was just talking to. Yang runs after Dongliang and asks him about her.

Anna Holm (Joan Crawford), a facially disfigured woman, meets Torsten Barring (Conrad Veidt). He is not put off by her face. She doubts his sincerity at first but soon finds herself craving the attention he gives her. She warns him that she isn't a good person but that doesn't scare him away.

Anna is in the process of blackmailing Vera Segert, when she gets caught by Vera's husband, Dr. Gustaf Segert (Melvyn Douglas). Gustaf decides not to turn her over to the police. His specialty is reconstructive surgery. He offers to fix her face. She accepts his offer and travels from Sweden to Switzerland where the surgery takes place.

Teen Titans 4.02

The Quest

Robin loses a fight to a villain named Katarou. He decides that he needs more training and goes in search of the True Master. His quest takes him halfway around the world where he meets an elderly woman. She tells Robin that if he wants to train with the True Master then he will need to get to the top of a nearby mountain before the sun sets.

A Model Family 1.06

Episode 6

Dong-ha goes to Incheon, as instructed. Eun-joo follows him. His instructions lead him to a hotel that is a hangout for junkies. The police raid the hotel while he is there. He tries to get away but he gets caught along with everyone else.

Kwang-chul is released because the head of the top cartel lets his bosses, who want him dead, know that they are not to kill him. The mob enforcer who was ready to kill Kwang-chul releases him.

Dong-ha tells the police that he was in the hotel for a "massage". They let him go. He returns to his car only to find Eun-joo waiting for him. He tells her at least part of what he's been doing. She accuses him of trying to destroy their family. He throws it back in her face by asking her about the affair she was having. She has no response to that.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 1.19

Heart of Glory

The Enterprise crosses into the Neutral Zone to investigate a conflict that already happened. They find a Talarian ship that is in bad shape there are three Klingons on board. They bring the Klingons back to the Enterprise. One of the Klingons dies soon after they arrive aboard the Enterprise.

Worf interacts with Commander Korris and Lieutenant Konmel, the two surviving Klingons. They are surprised to find a Klingon serving aboard a Starfleet vessel. He tells them a little bit about himself. They are stunned by the revelation that he was rescued and raised by humans when he was very little.

Solar Opposites 1.05

The Lavatic Reactor

Terry and Korvo go to junior college. Terry wants to party. Korvo wants to learn. Terry shoots Korvo with the dumb ray. Terry has fun partying with Korvo until Korvo almost destroys the city. Terry figures out how to fix the situation, despite wanting to just party.

Jesse and Yumyulack go to school during the summer. No one else is there, not even the teachers. They keep going to school because they think that it is a test. Eventually they find out that it wasn't a test.

Tim and Cherie go on a quest to break the Duke's hold on the people in the Wall. It turns out to be a trap set up by the Duke.

Doctor Who (1963) 8.04.01

Colony in Space - Part One

The Doctor fixes the dematerialization circuit. The TARDIS transports the Doctor and Jo to the planet Uxarieus. The Doctor suspects that the Time Lords had something to do with it. There the Doctor and Jo discover a mining operation which is in serious trouble because their food supplies are running dangerously low. Two of the miners turn up dead after radioing for help. The episode ends with the a robot closing in on the Doctor while he is investigating the abode of the dead miners.

Attack on Titan 1.09

Whereabouts of His Left Arm: The Struggle for Trost, Part 5

What happened to Eren is revealed but not in full. The captain of the guard holds an informal hearing and demands that Eren explain himself. Eren doesn't really remember what happened. He recalls that part of his right arm was bit off but seems to have been restored.

Mikasa tries to protect Eren. He recalls his father telling him to head to the basement of their home and use the key he was given. The commander of the guard ultimately decides that he doesn't like Eren's answer to the question. Eren bites his thumb and transforms into something kind of resembling a Titan just as a canon opens fire.

Schitt's Creek 4.13

Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose

Johnny decides that he wants to throw a small Christmas party. Moira, David, and Alexis really aren't interested but in the end they humor him

Thoughts

This episode was funny in the early going but then it got sentimental in a way that really doesn't speak to me.

Lord Hidetora Ichimongi (Tatsuya Nakadi), now that he has turned 70, decides to turn his kingdom over to Taro, his eldest son. Taro and Jiro, Hidetora's middle son. agree with their father but Saburo, the youngest son, openly voices his disapproval. Hidetora banishes Saburo and Tango, another of his followers who voices his disapproval of Hidetora's decision.

The Orville 2.10

The Blood of Patriots

The Orville is sent to help negotiate a preliminary peace treaty with the Krill but on the way there they encounter a Krill shuttle being pursued by a much larger Krill ship. Captain Mercer decides to let the shuttle land in the Orville's docking station.

There are two humans on board. One of them is Orrin Channing, a friend of Gordon who spent 20 years in a Krill prison. The other is Leyna, Orrin's daughter. The Krill accuse Orrin of destroying three Krill ships and demand that he be returned to them. The Ed insists that they will need some time to think it over. The Krill them 12 hours.

Chain of Command - Part 2

Gul Madred interrogates Captain Picard. He uses drugs and other means to extract what he can from Picard but that isn't enough. He continues to torture Picard in other ways. At one point he flips a switch and four lights come on. Gul Madred asks Picard how many lights he sees. Picard says that he sees four lights. Madred insists that there are five lights. Picard insists that he only sees four.

The Cardassian representatives with whom Captain Jellicoe is negotiating, reveals that they have captured Captain Picard. Commander Riker wants to mount a rescue mission but Captain Jellicoe says no. Captain Jellicoe forces Commander Riker to step down from his role as first officer for disagreeing with him.

Episode 5

Hualin, 1997. Section chief Xing Juanchan offers Xiang a bribe to look the other way while goods are stolen from Hualin Steel Works. Xiang can't do that. He returns the bribe to Xing. Xiang also tells a couple of thugs who come to visit him to back off.

Xiang gives Yang a hard time for not focusing on school. Yang doesn't want to stay in school. He wants to be a poet. Luo Meisu tries to keep the peace between her husband and their son.

Yang gets to spend a little bit of time with Shen Mo, after work. The day after that he takes her for a walk along the railroad tracks. He tells her about his poetry and his father. She likes his poetry very much.

Bilko's Grand Hotel

Bilko invests the platoon's money in a pizza stand but there's a mishap and the pizza stand burns down. 

Bilko next gets the idea to buy the run down husk of a building that used to be a hotel and sell it to the Hilton Hotel chain. He signs a contract to buy the building only to learn that he has bought it from the Hilton Hotel chain who were looking to get rid of it.

Bilko's next scheme is to denigrate the name of the Hilton Hotel chain by making it look like the run down hotel is a Hilton in the hopes that the owners of the hotel chain will pay them to shut it down.

Adrienne Fromsett (Audrey Totter) hires Philip Marlowe (Robert Montgomery) to find Crystal Kingsby, her employer's wife, who has been missing for two months. Marlowe visits the Kingbys' vacation home and discovers that the body of a woman, but not Crystal, was recently found in a nearby lake.

His investigation leads to conflict with a suspect, the police, and Adrienne Fromsett. She eventually tells him to drop the case but then Mr. Kingsby hires him to continue searching for his wife. The suspect with whom Marlowe talked earlier in the movie later turns up dead, Marlowe finds the suspect's landlady rooting around his place, and a police detective tries to kill Marlowe.

Control Freak escapes from prison. He takes over television programs everywhere. The Teen Titans follow him into the world of television programs. Separately and together they fight Control Freak but he proves to be unbeatable until, following Beast Boy's lead, they take him on in one of the revered programs from the 1970s, Clash of the Planets.

Tracy Lord (Grace Kelly) is about to get married for the second time. C.K. Dexter-Haven (Bing Crosby), her first husband, is in the neighborhood and can't resist stopping by even though seeing him again is the last thing Tracy wants. The twenty-four hours leading up to the wedding is further complicated by the arrival of reporter Mike Connor (Frank Sinatra) and a photographer who are there to cover the event for a national magazine.

Tracy starts to regret the prospect of marrying her groom to be, gets drunk, and flirts with Connor. The movie ends with her second thoughts of marriage to George pushing her to do what was unthinkable days before.
