Colony in Space - Part One
The Doctor fixes the dematerialization circuit. The TARDIS transports the Doctor and Jo to the planet Uxarieus. The Doctor suspects that the Time Lords had something to do with it. There the Doctor and Jo discover a mining operation which is in serious trouble because their food supplies are running dangerously low. Two of the miners turn up dead after radioing for help. The episode ends with the a robot closing in on the Doctor while he is investigating the abode of the dead miners.

I wrote a longer summary of this episode but I accidentally deleted it.
Toby Hadoke (moderator), Michael Briant (director), Graeme Harper (assistant floor manager), Katy Manning (Jo Grant), and Terrence Dicks (script editor) are on the commentary track. Harper later went on to direct episodes of Doctor Who. The first story he directed was The Caves of Androzani. This is the first of six stories that Michael Briant directed. I have seen two of the other five in recent years: Death to the Daleks (one of my least favorite) and The Robots of Death (one of my all time favorites).
This was a decent start but there are five more installments in this story. I hope that the story is good enough to justify being six episodes in length.
