Star Wars: Clone Wars 3.12

Nightsisters

Act 1

Darth Sidious order Count Dooku to kill his apprentice, Asajj Ventress, Dooku tries to argue but Sidious insists. Ventress is in the middle of a big battle and fighting with Obi Wan and Anakin Skywalker when Dooku informs her of her fate. He then sends droids to destroy the battleship where she is fighting with the Jedi. Ventress is injured but like the Jedis she manages to escape the battleship before it is destroyed.

Act 2

Ventress makes her way to her homeworld of Dathomir. There she is taken in by her clan who are led by Mother Talzin. She is healed and in the process her origin is revealed. As an infant she was sold to protect the clan. Her master was killed a few years later. She was taken in by another and served him, learning how to use her force abilities. After he was killed she met Count Dooku and became his apprentice.

She awakens from the healing ceremony with a desire for revenge. Mother Talzin assists in her quest in a few ways. She assigns two clan members to assist her in her quest for vengeance, provides them with a potion that turns them invisible, gives them lightsabers, and a poisonous dart to dull Dooku's senses.

Act 3

Ventress and her three sisters infiltrate Dooku's home and unsuccessfully attempt to kill him. Even drugged he proves to be too powerful for them. They escape with their lives.

Thoughts

I preferred the first two acts to the third one. I liked how the conflict between Ventress and Dooku is set up but not the actual assassination attempt. It went too fast, was too clean, and no one was injured. Part of the problem with a show where the villains are extremely villainous and inhumane, as seems to be the case in Star Wars, is that I find it tough to feel any compassion towards them even when they are in conflict with one another.

This episode is the opening act of a trio of episodes.
