Moonlighting 2.06

Knowing Her

Jillian Armstrong, an ex-girlfriend of David, hires the Blue Moon Detective Agency to try and find a missing piece of her jewelry. Jillian is separated from her husband Harlan. David wonders if Harlan might have something to do with the missing locket. 

David goes to visit Jillian. She almost falls off the balcony to her hotel room when the railing falls apart. Later she has to have her stomach pumped after she overdoses on sleeping pills. She is taken to the hospital where she recovers.

Maddie goes to visit Harlan Armstrong. She comes away from the meeting with the impression that Harlan is just an emotionally wounded man. David thinks Harlan had something to do with Jillian's near death experiences.

Jillian and David meet up after she is released from the hospital. They are talking and kissing when she spots Harlan's car. She goes over to the car alone. There's a struggle. A gun goes off and Harlan is dead.

Maddie has doubts about Jillian. David still believes her. Maddie's doubts are confrimed when she gets a visit from the detective in charge of the investigation into Harlan murder.

There is a wild car chase involving a Hearse. David considers apologizing to Maddie but decides not to.

Bilko the Art Lover

Bilko gets a two week furlough. He goes to New York to see Carlyle Thompson III, who used to be in his platoon. Carlyle comes from a rich family.

Things don't go exactly as planned. Things start to come apart when Carlyle gets into a fight with his father over his future. Carlyle wants to be a sculptor but his father wants him to join the family shipping business. The fight between Carlyle and his father comes to a head just as Bilko arrives.

Instead of staying in a luxurious home on Park Avenue, Bilko winds up having to leave with Carlyle. Bilko scrambles to salvage the situation. He does his best to sell some of Carlyle's artwork.

The expanding rule of Nekron, ruler of Icepeak, threatens the people of Firekeep. King Jarol of Firekeep rejects the peace offer from Nekron because it would mean turning over his land to Icepeak. Teegra, Jarol's daughter, is kidnapped by some of Nekron's subhuman warriors while her father is dealing with the delegation from Icepeak.

Teegra escapes from Nekron's men and meets Larn, a man whose village was destroyed by Nekron's subhuman army. The two get separated when a squid like creature attacks them while they are bathing. Teegra is recaptured by Nekron's forces and taken back to Icepeak. Larn and Darkwolf, an ally he meets while searching for Teegra, make their way to Icepeak and rescue Teegra.

Inuyasha 1.03

Down the Rabbit Hole and Back Again

Kagome bathes in a stream. She decides that she should try once again to return home. She returns to the well. She is having second thoughts about descending into the well when Yura of the Demon Hair finds her. Yura senses the shard of the Shikon Jewel and uses her magical power to take it. She knocks Kagome down into to the well.

Inuyasha goes looking for Kagome. He arrives at the village only to find most of the villagers acting strange. He cannot see it but they are controlled by Yura. Kaede warns him not to harm the villagers. 

Kagome wakes up at the bottom of the well but back in the present.

In 1943, Ensign Willis Keith is disappointed when he discovers himself assigned to the USS Caine, a minesweeper with a captain who has very lax attitude. The captain of the ship is eventually reassigned and replaced by Lt Commander Queeg (Humphrey Bogart) who previously served in the North Atlantic.

Queeg’s approach is very different from that of his predecessor. He is very strict but he also makes serious mistakes which he covers up. Lieutenant Maryk (Van Johnson), the Caine’s executive officer, tries to stand by the captain even when all the other officers onboard are sick of him.

Paranoia Agent 1.06

Fear of a Direct Hit

Tokyo experiences stormy weather. Ikari and Maniwa, the two police detectives, continue to investigate the case of Shonen Bat. They spend a lot of time questioning the old homeless lady. Ikari is very aggressive in his questioning. She only wants to talk about her granddaughter whom she has not seen in a long time.

A young teenager named Taeko has run away from home after finding out that someone has been watching her, taking pictures of her as she undresses. She suspects or knows that it was her father. After tearing her room apart and destroying the hidden camera, she takes to the streets.

The storm gets more intense. It destroys the shelter that the old homeless lady built for herself and carries her away. Ikari and Maniwa summon Tsukiko Sagi, the first person attacked by Shonen Bat, and question her. Ikari is very verbally aggressive. He insists that there Lil' Slugger does not exist and that she injured herself. He tells her that the old homeless lady saw it all. Tsukiko falls down in the middle of the interrogation as if she was just hit by Shonen Bat.

Moonlighting 2.05

My Fair David

Maddie is enraged when she walks into the office of the Blue Moon Detective Agency only to find that David has a limbo contest going, during working hours. Maddie bets David that he can't act professional for one week. He accepts the bet.

Maddie and David are hired my Emily Greydon to deliver the $100,000 ransom for her stepson Clark. She wants them to try and bargain with the kidnappers and offers them a bonus if they can get the kidnappers to take an amount less than $100,000.

David does his best to win the bet. It gets Maddie on the bad side of everyone in the office, especially Ms. DiPesto who accuses her of de-Dave-ing Mr. Addison.

Abbott Elementary 2.07

Attack Ad

Legendary Schools, a charter school company, puts out an ad that uses footage of the teachers of Abbott Elementary to promote their charter schools. The teachers at Abbott are fighting mad. They track down the CEO of Legendary Schools, who turns out to be a former student at Abbott. He was in Barbara's first class at Abbott.

Tariq returns. He's back to get some stuff that he left at Janine's apartment. He has ulterior motives. Janine assumes the best, at first, but eventually is reminded of why she broke up with Tariq.

Thoughts

This was a good episode. It didn't blow me away but it also did not disappoint. There is some hint that Draemond, the CEO of Legendary Schools, will be back.

Bilko Saves Ritzik's Marriage

Ritzik plays cards with Bilko and the other sergeants instead of going home to Emma, his wife, on the night of their 15th wedding anniversary. Bilko comes up with more than one scheme to get the quarrelling couple back together again.

This is a decent episode. Bilko assumes another identity, yet again, in order to further one of his schemes. This time he pretends to be Ritzik while Barbella and Henshaw pretend to be Ritzik's sons.

Maria Acuña (Rita Hayworth), Eduardo's daughter, is under pressure from Eduardo, her mother, and her younger sisters to get married. Eduardo won't let Maria's younger sisters, both of whom have prospects lined up, get married until Maria gets married.

Maria has no interest in getting married until she starts receiving orchids from a secret admirer. What she doesn't know that it is her father who has been sending her the flowers in the hopes that it will change her mind about getting married.

Marie Germain and Hélène Crémieux escape from the school. They are forced to depart on foot because the car is being watched. Marie sends Sophie to Lucienne's home and then heads back to her farm. She tells Albert Crémieux about what happened.

Lucienne keeps an eye on Hélène until Jules returns. The Gestapo search the town for Hélène and they are nearing Jules and Lucienne's apartment. Jules hides Hélène in a closet which he then locks. The Gestapo shows up and starts to search but then Lucienne pretends that she is going into labor.  The Gestapo officers leave without searching the closet.

Private Robert E. Lee Prewitt (Montgomery Clift) transfers to Company G in 1941 on the island of Oahu where First Sergeant Milton Warden (Burt Lancaster) is the senior staff NCO. Captain Dana Holmes, the company commander, wants Prewitt to join the company boxing team. The CO offers Prewitt a promotion and an easier life if he will do it. Prewitt declines the offer and explains that he gave up boxing after accidentally blinding an opponent. Holmes doesn’t take kindly to Prewitt’s attitude and gives the men on his boxing team orders to harass and bully Prewitt until he agrees to join the team.

Inuyasha 1.02

Seekers of the Sacred Jewel

Kagome learns more about the world in which she has found herself and the Shikon Jewel. The villagers are convinced that she is the reincanation of Kikyo, Kaede's older sister, who was killed 50 years ago. Kagome argues with Inuyasha, whom she can now control thanks to a magical magical necklace that Kaede placed on him. She tries to make friends with Inyasha but he is determined to get the Shikon Jewel.

Kagome goes for a walk outside the village. She is hoping to find the well that brought her back in time. She is captured by a gang of men who aren't from the village. They work for a very big man whose body is controlled by a demon that looks like a crow and is after the Shikon Jewel. Inuyasha rescues Kagome but the crow-like demon gets the Shikon Jewel and swallows it. Kagome tries to shoot it down with a bow and arrow, as Kikyo might have, but she is not as skilled with the bow and arrow as Kikyo.

The crow demon is shredded to pieces by Inuyasha but it reassembles itself. The Shikon Jewel is shattered when Kagome finally hits the demon crow with an arrow. The episode ends with Kagome finding a shard of the Shikon Jewel but she worries about what happened to the other shards.

The Invasion of Time - Part Six

The Doctor and the others retreat deep into the TARDIS. The Sontarans break into the TARDIS with Kelner and go after the Doctor, Leela, K-9, Rodan, Andred, and Borusa but the Doctor is the one they really want. He has the Great Key.

The groups cover a lot of ground and walk through many sections of the TARDIS. Many of them look identical to one another.

The Doctor hypnotizes Rodan. He orders her to build something for him and to keep an eye on K-9. He returns later and retrieves the thing she built, a D-Mat gun. It is powered by the Great Key. He uses it to kill both of the Sontarans that are chasing him.

The Doctor finds his friends. He doesn't remember anything about the Sontarans, the Vardans, or becoming president of the High Council of Gallifrey.

Paranoia Agent 1.05

The Holy Warrior

The two detectives interrogate Makoto Kozuka, Shonen Bat. He's the boy who was arrested at the end of the previous episode for attacking at least five different people. Ikari, the older detective takes charge of the questioning but gets nowhere. Ikari gets increasingly more confused the more questions he asks of Kozuka. Maniwa, the younger detective seems to understand what Kozuka is saying.

Kozuka is convinced that he is a holy warrior and on a quest. Ikari keeps trying to bring the story back to reality but Maniwa takes the opposite tactic and accepts Kosuka's story at face value. The two detectives find them selves in a magical world. They follow Kozuka, who is dressed in armor, around. They meet two of his victims in that world, Harumi and Kawazu. Kozuka keeps talking about a supernatural being named Gohma that he is at war with. They finally encounter Gohma at the end of the episode. It is the homeless woman from episode 1.

Moonlighting 2.04

The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice

The episode opens with an introduction by Orson Welles. He informs the viewers that part of the episode will be not be in color.

Maddie and David meet with a client (Mr. Bigelow) at the Flamingo Cove, an old run down nightclub. Bigelow wanted them to get evidence that his wife is cheating on him. They followed her around for days but were unable to come up with any evidence to support his claim. He is not pleased.

David and Maddie strike up a conversation with the guy who is trying to sell the Flamingo Cove. The subject quickly turns to the murder that happened there, decades before. There was a love triangle. A married woman and her lover killed her husband, or at least that's the story. They both went to the electric chair. The truth behind the murder was never resolved. They both died swearing that the other was the one who killed her husband.

Maddie and David leave the nightclub arguing about who killed who. That night they both dream about the case, not the case they were working on but the Flamingo Cove murder.

Steve Austin is down on his luck after an unsuccessful mission. Tamara, one of the agents with whom he was working, was killed after he was pulled off the mission. Steve wants revenge but Oscar Goldman, his boss, refuses to authorize such a mission. Steve is tricked into going on a vacation to the Bahamas by Harry Donner, an old friend. Goldman is pulling the strings, behind the scenes.

Steve meets a couple of Russians in the Bahamas, Katrina Volana and Alexi Kaslov. Steve and Kaslov met years before when they were involved in their countries' respective space missions. Steve gets some assistance from Cynthia Holland

Steve sneaks around, gets kidnapped by the Russians, and subsequently escapes from the Russians. He locates international arms dealer Arlen Findletter's secret base and then improvises a mission to stop the arms dealer.

McCarty reluctantly gives Dan a couple hours to prove his innocence after the local judge and sheriff insist on it.

During the first World War, Lieutenant T.E. Lawrence (Peter O'Toole) is sent by the British Government on a mission to contact Prince Faisal (Alec Guinenss) of Iraq. His original guide on this mission is killed by Sherif Ali (Omar Sharif) who then volunteers to lead him to Prince Faisal. Lawrence and Ali, under instructions from the prince, lead an expedition to Aqaba to try and retake the city. On their way there they meet Auda Abu Tayi (Anthony Quinn) who is at first antagonistic towards the pair and their small strike force but later agrees to join them in the attack on Aqaba.

The storming of Aqaba is a raging success. The Turkish forces that held the city are routed. Lawrence leaves his allies in Aqaba and heads across the Sinai Peninsula to the British military command in Cairo. He convinces them to allow him to return with supplies and money.

The Jewish people being held at the school learn that they are to be taken to Poland. Albert Crémieux gets increasingly agitated about what is going to happen to his wife and daughter. Raymond brings Marie some information that he copied from his wife's papers, about the work his business is doing for the Germans. Marie passes that information on to Victor, her contact with the Resistance. She tries to convince Victor that they need to try and rescue Anna and Hélène but he isn't buying it.

Servier chastises Daniel Larcher for hiding Sarah Meyers in his house. Daniel returns home empty handed, unable to see Sarah or do anything for her. He talks to Hortense about it. She puts together a suitcase of clothing for Sarah.

Unemployed model Gladys Glover (Judy Holliday) is spotted by photographer Pete Sheppard (Jack Lemmon) in Central Park. He strikes up a conversation with her. He’s there shooting footage with a handheld camera for a movie he is making. He gets her address after she expresses an interest in seeing the movie he is working on.  They chitchat and then go their separate ways.

She spots an unused billboard near Columbus Circle. She contacts the company that owns the billboard and rents it for a week. She has them paint her name on the billboard.

The Invasion of Time - Part Five

The Sontarans, led by Commander Stor, take over. Cardinal Borusa creates a distraction which allows that Doctor and the others to escape. They head to the President's office where they find Borusa. Stor sends his troops after them. Leela kills one of them after the Doctor tells her how it can be done.

Kelner stays behind and does his best to assist the Sontarans. He leads them straight to the President's office. The Doctor and his friends are already in there by that point and have locked the door. They eventually leave by a secret back door and head for the TARDIS. Leela takes most of the others with her.

The Doctor and Bousa stay behind, in Borusa's office. The Doctor needs the Great Key and insists that Borusa hand it over. Once the Doctor has thte key they head for the TARDIS.

Paranoia Agent 1.04

A Man's Path

Hirukawa, a uniformed police officer, was a client of Maria, is obsessed with a manga series called A Man's Path, and owes money to the mob. He gets desperate and starts robbing people to get the money he needs. The boss to whom he owes the money isn't very understanding when Hirukawa has trouble coming up with all the money he owes.

Hirukawa frequently thinks about his favorite manga, A Man's Path. He tries to recast his situation to be like that of the hero of the manga. The two men couldn't be more dissimilar.

Hirukawa crosses paths with Ikiru, the older of the two detectives investigating the Lil' Slugger case. They've known each other for years.

Hirukawa gets stressed out over what his life has come to, robbing people. He is freaking out when the boy with the golden skates and the bat comes along and hits him. Hirukawa, unlike the others, doesn't fall down and stay down. He gets up and attacks Lil' Slugger. The next day there is a press conference at which Hirukawa is identified as the officer who captured Shonen Bat.

Moonlighting 2.03

Money Talks... Maddie Walks

Maddie and David are walking down the street, after a meeting with a potential client that didn't go so well, arguing when Maddie looks up and spots some she knows, about to jump off a ledge. She goes up to the ledge to try and talk him out of doing it. She learns that the accountant who stole her money used it to help build a casino in Buenos Aires.

Maddie flies to Buenos Aires and goes to see Ron Sawyer, the accountant. He isn't very nice or cooperative. She doesn't get anywhere with him. David shows up and suggests that they use some of the money that Ron gave Maddie to spend on gambling. They play craps and several other games and win $20,000.

David is ready to leave but Maddie isn't satisfied. She wants David to play Ron in a game of stud poker, which he told her is his game. David tries to talk her out of it but she insists. The game doesn't go exactly as Maddie hoped it would. She walks away only $4,000 richer than she was an the beginning of the night.
