The Dakini

Mae tries to drown her sorrow with drugs. She winds up hanging out with three guys in their late teens, smoking weed with them. She propositions one of them but he isn't interested. She tries eating food, lots of food, but it doesn't help her to feel any better.

Mae finally comes to some realizations and admits some things to herself. Gina finds her and they reconcile after she apologizes to Gina. She goes out for a walk that night and runs into Elijah.

Mae goes home with Elijah, after explaining to him what's been happening to her. They have sex, she wakes up the next morning and is back where she started, at the beginning of the series.

The Monster of Peladon - Part Six

The Doctor uses the Aggedor statue on the Ice Warriors just as they are about to break in to the refinery. One gets away but the other two are killed. The Doctor sends Gebek to rally the miners.

Eckersley finds out what the Doctor has been up to and decides to do something about it. He turns the security system alarm on in the Refinery, remotely. The Doctor are Sarah are barely able to think with the alarm going off. Sarah leaves to find Geberk but the Doctor stays behind.

The Doctor uses the statue of Aggedor to help the miners in their fight with the Ice Warriors. A couple of the defenders are killed but a couple of the Ice Warriors are also slain, thanks to the Doctor and the statue of Aggedor. 

Eckersley turns the power of the alarm up to the maximum. The Doctor is no longer able to function. Eckersley believes he has killed him. Azaxyr attempts to take Queen Thalira hostage but the miners overcome the Ice Warrior.

The Ice Warriors are defeated. Everyone is ready to celebrate but then Eckersley kidnaps the Queen. He plans to use her as a hostage to help him get safely to his ship. The Doctor uses the real Aggedor to track down the Queen and Eckersley. Aggedor attacks Eckersley. The two fight and both are killed.

The Doctor and Sarah say their goodbyes and leave Peladon.

Zuril comes up with a new plan to destroy the Space Science Center. He brings in four Vegans named Toko 1-4. Toko 4 impersonates Danbei, while the others three work with Zuril to infiltrate the Space Science Center.

Their first plan is to destroy it with a bomb. They sneak in and plant a bomb but a bomb detector gives the security system enough time to shield vital areas of the Space Science Center from the bomb.

Toko 4 takes out Danbei by knocking him into a gorge. It isn't until much later that Kouji and Maria find him. Toko 4 has infiltrated the Shirakaba ranch by then and fooled others, including Goro, his son. Once Danbei has returned to the ranch there is some confusion as to which is the real Danbei.

Redemption - Part One

The Enterprise travels to the Klingon home world. Picard has been chosen to aritrate the transfer of power to the next leader of the council. Gowron, who was chosen to lead the council but has yet to be formally appointed, approaches Picard. He fears that the sisters of Duras, the previous leader of the council, are planning to stir up trouble.

Worf meets with Kurn, his younger brother. He wants Kurn to join him in his ploy to get their family's name restored. Kern is reluctant but he agrees to Worf's plan.

Both sides (Gowron and the sisters of Duras) want Picard to choose them. He meets with both sides individually but agrees to nothing. He doesn't want to draw the Federation into what he describes as an internal matter for the Klingon Empire.

Episode 6

Jeong-hyuk explains to Seung-joon that he is Se-ri's bodyguard. 

Seo-dan and Seong-joon meet for the second time.

Seo-dan arranges a dinner with Jeong-hyuk, her mother, and his parents. A wedding date is set during the meal.

Se-hyeong, Se-ri's brother, learns that she is still alive and is in North Korea. He and his wife decide that Se-ri must never return from North Korea.

An attempt is made on Se-ri's life as she is being driven to the airport by one of Jeong-hyuk's men. Jeong-hyuk prevents the would be murderers from killing Se-ri but he gets shot in the back during the attempt on her life.

Who Knows Better Than I?

The guards who killed Piscatella try to pin his death on the inmates. Cindy and Suzanne see and overhear the guards planning how to pin Piscatella's death on the inmates. They avoid getting caught until they have distanced themselves from the pool room and Piscatella's body.

Berlin attempts suicide but is unsuccessful in her attempt. She is restrained for the rest of the episode to prevent her from making another attempt.

All of the inmates who were in the pool room (Taystee, Cindy, Suzanne, Dayanara, Chapman, Nickels, Flores, Berlin, Ruiz, Mendoza, Red) are placed in maximum security. They are questioned and beaten up at the smallest sign that they are unwilling to cooperate.

Danielle does awkward and embarrassing things as she feels her life is spinning out of control.

The Girlfriend

Mae hangs out with Elijah. She goes home with him. They almost have sex but she puts a stop to that before they get very far. She spends the night with him. They don't have sex. The next day they get carryout and eat in a park. Mae sees the monk and tries waving to him but he doesn't seem to recognize her.

Elijah takes her to the museum. They have a wonderful day together. They are walking down the street that night when they happen to walk past Gina. Mae tries to ignore her friend, even after Gina calls her name. Mae finally stops. Gina has had enough of Mae's behavior, gives Mae a piece of her mind and then walks off. Elijah is spooked and leaves too.

The Monster of Peladon - Part Five

The Doctor survives the explosion of the sonic lance but Ettis does not. Sarah and Alpha Centauri are taken to the throne room and held prisoner there, along with Queen Thalira and Ortron. They come up with a plan to escape by distracting the Ice Warrior guarding them. They exeecute their plan but Ortron gets killed.  Queen Thalira stays behind to look after his body, but Sarah and Alpha Centauri escape and head to the control room.

Eckersley shuts off the air vents in the mine knowing that the miners will have to evacuate or suffocate. Queen Thalira is questioned by Azaxyr. She tells him that Sarah and Alpha Centauri went to join the miners. Eckersley and Azaxyr head to the refinery where they use the statue of Aggedor and some high tech gadgets to kill some of the miners in an effort to flush the rest out of the mines.

The Vegans use a plan devised by Zuril to attack Tokyo. They arm rats with Vegatron explosives and then send them into Tokyo. The Vegans give the Japanese people an ultimatum: surrender or else Tokyo will be attacked.

The Grendizer team tries to find the Vegan threat. They are unable to prevent the attack on Tokyo Tower. Duke Fleed sees the rats near the tower and alerts the others. The Grendizer team jams the signal that the Vegans are using to drive the rats into the city and use another signal to lead them out of the city where they destroy them.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 4.24

The Mind's Eye

Lieutenant Commander La Forge is captured by Romulans while on his way to a conference. He is brainwashed and returned to the Enterprise unaware of what happened to him. The Enterprise is on its way to Krios, a Kligon outpost, when Lieutenant Commander La Forge returns. Klingon Ambassador Kell is aboard the Enterprise to mediate a dispute with Vagh the governor of Krios who has accused the Federation of supplying arms to rebels.

Vagh provides Captain Picard with one of many weapons that were taken from rebels. It looks like a Federation weapon but when La Forge and Data analyze the weapon they conclude that it was powered up by a Romulan source.

Geordi secretly beams weapons down to the surface of Krios which are quickly found. Governor Vagh is enraged. Captain Picard launches an investigation but the data logs have been wiped and there is no trace of who transported the weapons.

Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) moves from New Jersey to southern California with his mother. He goes to a beach party with some guys he just met. He is flirting with Ally, a girl he just met, when Johnny, her ex-boyfriend shows up. Johnny doesn't starts hassling Ally. Daniel steps in to help Ally. Johnny and his friends beat up Daniel.

Daniel has a few more run-ins with Johnny and his friends, all of whom study karate at the Cobra Kai Dojo. Their teacher, John Krese, espouses a very tough, take no prisoners version of karate. 

Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), the maintenance man in the building where Daniel and his mother live, takes Daniel under his wing. He teaches him karate and sets up a showdown with Johnny at the All Valley Karate Tournament which buys Daniel some time to improve his skills. Daniel trains with Mr. Miyagi and gets to know Ally a little better in the days, weeks, and months that lead up to the tournament.

Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) and Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman), reporters for the Washington Post, investigate the aftermath of an attempted burglary at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. during the summer of 1972. The evidence points to connections to the efforts to get Richard Nixon re-elected President of the United States.

Woodward and Bernstein run into a lot of brick walls during their investigation. They chase down numerous leads and talk to hundreds of people in the process of trying to connect the dots. Eventually they amass enough evidence to convince Ben Bradlee, the Executive Editor of the Washington Post, to print their story which accuses top White House officials of ordering and funding the burglary of the Democratic National Committee’s HQ in the Watergate.

Hollywood the Golden Years: The RKO Story (1987) 1.06

Howard's Way

Howard Hughes bought RKO in 1948 and soon thereafter started to tinker with the studio including making changes to movies that were in production. Hughes took a lot of interest in the design of Jane Russell's clothing and in other aspects of many of the female actors at RKO.

Stewart Granger tells a story about a plan he had to kill Hughes when Granger and Jean Simmons were married. They didn't go through with the plan.

The Phil Silvers Show 3.08

Papa Bilko

Worlds collide. Bilko talks Pearly Johnson, a real ladies man, into join his platoon. Bilko, later that same day, gets a visit from a young lady whom he met when he was stationed in France, when she was just a girl.

Thoughts

Colonel Hall is not in this episode. Captain Barker seems to be filling in for the colonel which makes me wonder why the colonel wasn't in this episode. Illness? Contract dispute? I don't know.

Robert Webber played the part of Pearly Johnson. This is his second of two appearances on the show. He played a different character in his first appearance. He has a familiar look to him and has been in a few other things that I have seen but not in starring roles.

This is pretty good. It wasn't hard to see where it might and finally did end up.

Colonel Nicholson (Alex Guiness), the commanding officer of a British Army unit that was ordered to surrender, clashes with Colonel Saito (Sessue Hayakawa), his Japanese counterpart who runs the camp where he is kept prisoner. Saito wants Nicholson's men to build a railroad bridge across a river in Thailand during World War 2. Saito eventually gives in to Nicholson's terms. Nicholson builds a better bridge that Saito ever could have hoped to build.

Commander Shears (William Holden) an American enlisted man pretending to be an officer, escapes from the camp where Nicholson and his men are held. He makes it back to friendly territory but then gets talked into returning to the Kwai River with Major Warden (Jack Hawkins) to help blow up the bridge that Colonel Nicholson and his men are building. 

Schitt's Creek 2.13

Happy Anniversary

It is Moira and Johnny's anniversary.  Roland and Jocelyn, not knowing it is the Rose's wedding anniversary, invite them out to dinner. Johnny and Moira decline but then wind up at the same restaurant together with the Schitts.

Mutt throws a party. David goes and meets a guy. Stevie is there as well. Alexis goes to Mutt's party and meets Mutt's new girlfriend.

Thoughts

This episode is okay but not great. It felt a little cookie cutter, especially the Johnny and Moira part. It lacked the wit that I usually like to see in this show. It felt like a very safe episode and was not a great way to end the season.

Doctor Who (1963) 11.04.04

The Monster of Peladon - Part Four

Ice Warriors take over the Citadel and the mining operation. They claim to be representatives of the Federation but that claim is later proved to be false. They are there for their own purposes.

The miners attempt to rescue Gebek. The rescue attempt goes badly. Many of the miners are killed. Ice Warrior Commander Azaxyr is ready to execute the Doctor but he he holds off when he learns that the Doctor is the best hope he has for getting the miners back to work. The Doctor goes to Gebek and talks him into getting the miners back to work, which he does, but with the understanding that it is just to get the Ice Warriors to lower their guard.

The Doctor raises the temperature in the mines. Heat causes the Ice Warriors to get weak. The miners and the guards team up and attack once the Ice Warriors look like they are about to drop.

The Vegans send five young warriors to kill Duke Fleed. They have been told that Duke Fleed has brainwashed the people of Earth. The young warriors (or commandos) are escorted by Dageel, an adult. He takes them to an air base and helps them to fool the guards at the gate into letting them in. Once they are in the base they incapacitate everyone else, including Professor Umon who is there to help inspect the base.

Maria is also with Professor Umon. She sets off the alarm when the five warriors aren't looking. They suspect her of being not human. Duke Fleed and Kouji show up in Grendizer and Double Spazer, before they get a chance to interrogate Maria. They are ready to kill Duke Fleed but he manages to convince them that he isn't evil and hasn't brainwashed the people of Earth.

The forces of Vega have a backup plan. They send a saucer beast to kill Duke Fleed. The saucer beast kills one of the five warriors and abducts the other four. The warriors are killed accidentally by the saucer beast which is piloted by Dageel. Grendizer and Double Spazer work together and destroy the saucer beast.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 3.15

Yesterday's Enterprise

The Enterprise encounter a rift in space. One moment everything is normal, the next everything has changed. Tasha Yar, is alive once again and still serving on the Enterprise. The crew's uniforms have changed. Another starship appears before the Enterprise, NCC 1701-C, the Enterprise. Only Guinan recognizes that things aren't as they were moments before.

Captain Picard sends a team over to the Enterprise C. In the present the Federation is still at war with the Klingons. The away team finds survivors and that the Enterprise C is in bad shape. The away team stabilizes the Enterprise C.

Guinan talks to Captain Picard. She tells him that something, everything is wrong. She remembers how things were and tells him. He can't believe it.

Suburban housewife Roberta Glass (Rosanna Arquette) obsesses over personal ads, in particular ones that involve someone named Susan (Madonna). Roberta attempts to figure out who Susan is. She tails Susan to a consignemnt store and buys a jacket that Susan exchanges for a pair of boots. Both woman are unaware but Susan left a key in the pocket of the jacket.

Roberta tries to get in contact with Susan, in the hopes of returning the key. Things don't work out as planned. Susan gets arrested just before they are supposed to meet. Wayne, a mob connected man who is on a mission to get back something that and that Susan took, and Dez (Aidan Quinn), a friend of Susan's current boyfriend, both spot Roberta wearing Susan's jacket and mistake her for Susan. Roberta, thanks to a blow to her head while she is trying to get away from Wayne, temporarily loses her memory.

Captain Harlock (1978) 1.38

Farewell! Mayu

Captain Harlock notices that sun spot activity is increasing. He uses solar winds to speed the Arcadia back to Earth, ahead of the Mazone fleet. The Arcadia heads to Mayu's school. Harlock feels that she isn't safe there.

Commander Kiruta meets with Captain Harlock and suggests that he could take Mayu to his father in Egypt and hide her there. Captain Harlock agrees with the plan. Kiruta and Mayu head to Egypt while the Arcadia and its crew fight with the advanced portion of the Mazone fleet.

Doctor Who (1963) 11.04.03

The Monster of Peladon - Part Three

The Doctor uses hypnosis to calm Aggedor into a peaceful state. Chancellor Ortron releases the Doctor and Sarah Jane from the pit but orders them not to leave the Citadel. The Doctor attempts to violate this order and gets caught doing so. Ortron has him locked up.

Sarah completes the mission that Queen Thalira gave to the Doctor. She contacts Gebek and lets him know that Queen Thalira wants to meet with him. Sarah also tells Gebek about what happened to the Doctor. Gebek offers to break the Doctor out and convinces Sarah to head back to the Citadel.

The miners get their hands on the sonic lance. Eckersley convinces Alpha Centauri to contact the Federation and request troops to calm the situation on Peladon. Gebek frees the Doctor. Together they go to investigate the room where Sarah thought she saw someone. The Doctor manages to open the door without setting off the security system, like Sarah did. An Ice Warrior comes lumbering out of the room as the door swings open.

Ace reporter Hildy Johnson (Rosalind Russell) is getting ready to get quit her job and married just as the city government is getting ready to hang Earl Williams for killing a policeman. Walter Burns (Cary Grant), Hildy's boss and ex-husband, does everything he can to interfere with Hildy's attempts to leave town and get married to Bruce (Ralph Bellamy) her fiance. He does everything he can to get her to get her to cover the Earl Williams case.

Walter's attempts amount to little more than minor inconveniences. Hildy doesn't change her mind about sticking around and covering the Earl Williams case until Williams escapes and falls right into her lap. She tells Walter and together they do their best to get the scoop on all the other newspapers in town.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 5.08

Unification - Part Two

Commander Riker and the crew of the Enterprise continue with their investigation. It leads them to a Ferengi who reluctantly reveals that he has stolen Vulcan ships and handed them off to someone in the vicinity of the Neutral Zone.

Captain Picard and Ambassador Spock meet with Neral, proconsul of the Romulan Senate. Neral expresses an interest in pursuing reunification with the Vulcans but once they have left his office he contacts some of his allies who feel otherwise.

Commander Data and Ambassador Spock work together to break the Romulan transmission codes. They compare notes, while they are working, about the use of becoming more human.

Party Down 2.01

Jackal Onassis Backstage Party

Henry is now in charge of the Party Down team. Roman changes places with Jackal Onassis and for the most part finds it to be very unsatisfying. The singer tends bar and is recognized by no one. Casey returns. There are some awkward moments between Casey and Henry. Ron returns with a girlfriend who wants to meet Jackal Onassis.

Thoughts

This is Megan Mullally's first episode of Party Down. She's taking the place of Jennifer Coolidge who took the place of Jane Lynch. The rest of the cast is the same as in the first season but things aren't exactly as they were in the first season.

Slip 1.05

The Widow

Mae gets dressed and goes out. She meets up with Gina but Mae's plan did not work. Gina does not remember their conversation from the previous episode. They go to the museum together but they don't go inside. Mae spots the monk. She and Gina follow the monk.

Gina is perplexed by Mae's behavior. They part ways after Mae shocks Gina by acting flip about the death of Nick, Mae's husband. Mae approaches the monk and talks to him. She thinks that he holds the key to understanding the weird journey she is on.

Mae walks around the city. She gives people money. She invites a homeless man to stay in her apartment. Mae spends the night sleeping on the street. She has a dream in which she meets and makes out with herself. Her other self starts to finger her. That's when she wakes up. She is fingering herself in the real world.

Mae meets a high school student. They talk briefly. Mae runs into Elijah. He doesn't know her but he thinks she looks familiar. He asks her out for a drink. She accepts his offer.

The Phil Silvers Show 3.07

Sergeant Bilko Presents

Bilko finds out that Lockman, one of the men in his platoon, has written a play. Lockman has sold tickets to a performance of the show to other men in the platoon without telling Bilko. Bilko insists on getting involved when he discovers that Lockman has only written the play and hasn't considered all the other ways that the play could be used to generate money.

Biilko turns to the Roseville Women's Club for funding but then discovers that the club is broke. Bilko talks Major Lukens, Fort Baxter's morale officer, into getting the army to sponsor a playwriting contest. Bilko's hope is that Lockman's play will win the contest and the cash prize. Bilko's plan hits a few more snags and things don't work out exactly as he had planned.

Star Trek: The Next Generation 5.07

Unification - Part 1

Captain Picard receives word from Starfleet that Ambassador Spock has been sighted on the Romulan home world. It is suspected that he might have defected. Starfleet wants Captain Picard to figure out what Spock is up to and, if possible, retrieve him.

Picard visits Sarek, Spock's father, who is gravely ill. Picard hopes that Sarek might have some insight as to why his son is on the Romulan home world. Sarek suggests that Spock might be there to see Pardek, a Romulan senator with whom he has maintained a friendly relationship.

Captain Picard and Commander Data get a ride from a Klingon warship to the Romulan home world. The trip is arranged thanks to the leader of the Klingon high council.

Schitt's Creek 2.12

Lawn Signs

Moira's lawn signs for her town council campaign disappear. She's convinced that Jocelyn took the missing signs. Johnny accuses Roland of doing it.

Wendy, David's employer, tells David that she's going to have to let him go. She spent so much money implementing all his ideas that she is almost broke. David tries to make things right by helping Wendy negotiate with Blouse Barn Australia. Alexis gets in on the act and helps out too.

Thoughts

I love this episode. It might be my favorite so far this season. I love how Alexis jumps in and uses her smarts to help David and Wendy. I love how Moira schemes and then realizes what she has done.

Private investigator John Klute (Donald Sutherland) travels to New York City to investigate the disappearance of a man. His only clue is an un-mailed letter that the missing man wrote to prostitute Bree Daniels (Jane Fonda). 

Klute approaches Daniels. She doesn’t want to talk to him at first but he is persistent and she eventually warms to him. She doesn’t really remember the missing man. She has recently received numerous anonymous phone calls from someone who won’t speak to her. She suspects that she is being stalked.

Klute tries to put the pieces together. He wonders if the missing man is the stalker. He eventually suspects that someone he has been speaking to knows more than they are letting on. He sets a trap for them but things don’t go exactly as planned when the suspect begins to wonder if he is getting played by Klute. 

Captain Harlock (1978) 1.37

Tears on a Red Sweater

Shizuka stays in contact with Queen Lafresia who gives her a new mission. Shizuka fails to complete that mission which leads Queen Lafresia to conclude that Captain Harlock knows that she is a spy. Queen Lafresia cuts off contact with Shizuka.

Shizuka gets desperate. She tries shooting her way on to the bridge. Captain Harlock orders her off the Arcadia. The Mazone try to kill her once she is out in space The crew of the the Arcadia rescue her and nurse her back to health. She turns on them once she has recovered but it turns out to be an empty threat although they don't realize that until after Captain Harlock has shot and killed her.

Doctor Who (1963) 11.04.02

The Monster of Peladon - Part Two

Gebek shows up just in time to use the sonic lance to blast a whole in the wall and free the Doctor from the cavern. Gebek offers to take the Doctor to see Queen Thalira by a secret route. 

Sarah goes looking for the Doctor when she hears about the cave-in and the explosion. She gets lost. She tries to ask someone who is behind some opaque glass but they won't respond. She tries hammering on a door but it sets off a sonic protection device which gives Sarah a splitting headache and unable to do anything.

Eckersley returns in time to help Alpha Centauri find Sarah. They are returning to the control room where Eckersley works when they are attacked by Ettis. He knocks out Eckersley and forces Alpha Centauri to open the door to the armory. He threatened to kill Sarah if the armory door isn't opened.

Sarah gets captured by the Queen's guards after she is seen in the company of Ettis. She is taken to the temple. Ortron is trying to decide what to do with her when the Doctor shows up. Orton forces the Doctor and Sarah into the pit with Aggedor.
