I first watched Doctor Who in or around 1982. The first story I saw was The Sontaran Experiment. That's where I began when I went back and started to watch Doctor Who in 2020. It wasn't the first time since I had gone back to watch Doctor Who since the 1980s but 2020 to the present is probably the most consistently that I have watched it since then.
I'm pretty sure that I saw all of the 4th Doctor episodes of Doctor Who, with the exception of Shada, during the 1980s. It's possible that I missed an episode or two but I'm pretty sure that I saw at least part of every 4th Doctor story back then.
I also saw some 5th and 6th Doctor stories during the 1980s. I taped some of them on VHS cassettes and would watch them over and over again. I may have seen some 7th Doctor stories during the 1980s but I don't have any clear recollections of doing so.
I think I may have seen a little bit of the 1st Doctor during the 1980s, possibly the Aztecs. I'm pretty sure that my only exposures to the 2nd Doctor back then were in The Five Doctors and The Two Doctors. The only 2nd Doctor story I saw after the 1980s and prior to 2020 was Enemy of the World and I saw that within the past ten years. I saw a few 3rd Doctor stories around 2005 or 2006 but that was the first time I had seen him in anything other than The Five Doctors and the opening seconds of Robot.
I have also watched the first 4 seasons of the 2005 version of Doctor Who. I watched a fair amount of the fifth season but Matt Smith's version of the character and the tone of the show just didn't appeal to me the same way that most of the earlier incarnations have. I liked Christopher Eccelston's and David Tennant's versions of the the character. I have yet to give the more recent versions of the Doctor a try.
