Wig Out
Cockroach lives. Luke didn't kill him. He's just in really bad shape. Misty is the first cop on the scene. She talks to Luke but doesn't arrest him or take him in for questioning. Her colleagues and her boss are less than thrilled with this call.
Shades shows up at Mariah's home unexpectedly. She is having a meal with her daughter. Mariah chases him off.
Luke goes to Brooklyn and tracks down the Yardies. He's looking for Nigel, the leader of the Yardies, but Nigel is dead. He was killed by Bushmaster in 2.01 (Soul Brother #1). Bushmaster greets Luke with a bunch of his crew. He tests Cage by sending a few of his troops at him. They are no match for Luke. He beats them all up. Then, in a move that I found quite inexplicable, Luke walks off. No explanation.
Claire goes to James Lucas, Luke's estranged father, but she doesn't come clean. She asks him for advice. She tells him that she is having trouble with her boyfriend, Luther. He's going to find out, eventually. It ain't going to be pretty when he does. I think she's playing with fire.
Misty trains with Collen Wing. After training they go for a drink. They end up getting into a bar fight. Misty does most of the fighting. Together they clean the clocks of the guys who try to take them down. Misty does more than just her share of the fighting.
Mariah does what she can to win over her daughter while Shades works a deal with the Yardies. He sells guns to the Jamaicans while she holds a fundraiser for a community health center.
The episode ends with a confrontation between Luke and Claire. She doesn't like the way he's been acting lately. She's disturbed by what he did to Cockroach and the way he acted afterwards. He thinks his behavior is justified. It is a tense moment. It lasts more than a mere moment. It ends with Claire asking him to leave, it is her apartment. She needs some time and some space. I couldn't help but notice how they were lit in this scene. His face was partly in shadows while her face was well lit. Luke leaves and is walking down the street when he gets blindsided by Bushmaster.
A decent episode. The focus of it seems to be Luke's new attitude. He seems to be taking his new role to heart. There's a lot of pressure on him and he is choosing a path to follow. He isn't as reluctant to use violence as he once was and people are starting to take notice.
