Movies
Goals
- I am going to shoot for an average of 7-10 movies per month or around 80-120 movies for the year. The total number of movies isn't as important to me as the mix of movies.
- I would like to watch 5-7 from each decade from the 1920s to the 2020s. Last year I watched at least one movie from every year from 1932 to 1966. This year I would like to try and watch at least one movie from every year in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
- I would like to try to expand the diversity of the foreign language films I watch. I would like to try and see at least one movie each from Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. I don't thin that the I think that the Noir City DC Film Festival will help me in this regard as it did in 2024.
- I would like to watch at least 3 animated films from Japan. I'm not sure what else is out there but there are probably other animated films in languages other than Japanese that I should try.
- I would like to watch more animated films in English, including some older ones from 1970s and 1980s.
- I would like to try and watch a few musicals. They aren't exactly my cup of tea but I would like watch a few.
- I would like to watch more documentaries
- I would like to watch more films that star and/or were made by non-White people in English and other languages
- I would like to watch some English language films from countries other than just the US, UK, and Australia
