Helen
Earn and Van travel to her hometown for an Oktoberfest-like event. All the people they meet, with the exception of Christina, Van's childhood friend, are white. Van is dressed up for the event. Earn is not. She keeps trying to get him to get into the spirit of it all. He doesn't want to. He tries to, but not really. The shine on the apple comes off when Van finds Earn's phone. There's a message from another woman on the home screen. She doesn't tell him what she saw on his phone.
Earn's downward spiral seems to continue. I liked this one more than the last episode or two. There was more character development and character moments. I think Helen is the name of the woman who texted Earn. The show has not redeemed itself with this episode, especially if Van drops out of it. She is by a much more interesting character than Earn, who needs to wake up and stop sleepwalking through his life.
