Rick and Morty are getting ready to take off on a trip to Atlantis when they are visited by another Rick and Morty who ask them to contribute to the rebuilding of the citadel. Rick isn't interested. He brushes them off after reminding the visitors that he's the one who destroyed the previous incarnation of the citadel.
The rest of the episode takes place on the Citadel where everyone is either a Rick of a Morty. There are a few stories that run through this episode.
- Morty is running for president of the citadel. All his opponents are Ricks.
- Rick is a rookie cop whose training officer is a Morty.
- A quartet of Mortys runaway from the foster home where they live.
- Rick works in a factory making cookies until one day he loses his cool.
So many details. Most of these characters wind up dead. It is a very dark and violent episode. I liked it but I didn't love it. I laughed a few times but it was dark, gallows humor.
