Interior Chinatown 1.06

Translator

Uncle Wong takes Willis to the docks. Willis gets a call from Lana on the way to the docks. He's afraid of saying too much but he gives her enough hints. She shows up with uniformed police officers and Uncle Wong is arrested. Willis feels like a mistake has been made and does what he can to correct the it.

Turner continues to feel like something is wrong. Turner and Green experience a couple glitches in the matrix. They try to interrogate Uncle Wong but he acts as if he can't speak English.

Lily continues to work her job as a budding real estate agent. Fatty continues to run the Golden Palace and goes as far as to give Carl a chance to wait on tables. He gives Carl a pep talk and makes him practice his waitering banter before letting him give it a try for real.

Willis runs into Kamran, the tech guy that he replaced. Kamran has moved on and isn't interested in getting his old job back. He fixes the pager that belonged to Jonathan, Willis' brother. The phone number that Willis finds in it looks like it might be code.

Willis pretends to be the translator so that he can get in the interrogation room with Uncle Wong. Not all goes as Willis hoped but towards the end of the episode there is another glitch in the matrix, after which Turner and Green decide that they need to investigate the disappearance of Johnathan. Lana tells Willis after, Turner and Green have left, that she knew his brother.

Thoughts

Johnathan shows up in a couple flashback scenes but that is it. What is up with Lilly's real estate career? There has to be more to it than what I am currently seeing. At some point I think it will play a key role in the story. Will Uncle Wong play a big role in the next episode? What is going on with these glitches in the matrix? Should they just be taken at face value or is there more to them?

This wasn't as much fun as some of the previous episodes but it definitely moved the plot forward. This show walks a fine like between drama and comedy.
