Small Screen Scrawls: Star Trek

My first recollection of Star Trek is of ViewMaster discs of an episode of the Star Trek cartoon from the mid-1970s. It was the episode that dealt with Spock’s childhood.

I first watched Star Trek in the mid to late 1970s when there was just reruns of the original series. I don’t recall exactly when I started first saw Star Trek. It may have been after the first movie was released. I have a distinct recollection of watching Assignment: Earth at my great aunt and uncle’s place in South Jersey sometime back then but I can only remember the episode and not exactly when it was that I saw it. I also have recollections of the Original Series Trek airing every weekday in the afternoon at 4 or 5 PM in the early to mid 1980s.

I watched new episodes of The Next Generation when they first started airing but I didn’t stick with it faithfully. I saw some episodes and didn’t see others. I recall being very impressed by the special effects.

I never really got into Deep Space Nine or Voyager. I watched Enterprise faithfully for the first season but after that I lost interest.

I dip back into the back catalog every now and then. Here are some episodes I have watched in the past 15 to 20 years.
