Insecurity
Green Arrow and Artemis team up to catch Black Spider, a villain who reminds me a lot of Spider-Man. Red Arrow shows up after the fight is over. He sticks around to chat with Green Arrow, while Artemis heads back to the cave. She gets there via a teleportation box that looks a lot like the TARDIS. Green Arrow tells Red Arrow that it is just a matter of time before he will be offered membership in the Justice League but before that can happen they need him to join Young Justice.
Sports Master sneaks into Belle Reve. He helps Dr. Ivo escape. Sports Master was spotted at the airport in New Orleans, in civilian attire. The League sends three young heroes after him: Red Arrow, Kid Flash, and Aqualad. Artemis, enraged by the fact that Red Arrow is back on the team, insists on going along too.
They track Sports Master through the swamps near New Orleans. Cheshire shows up before they catch up to Sports Master. Artemis is the first one to get into a fight with her. Kid Flash and Red Arrow quickly join the fight but Cheshire proves to be a little too much for the trio. It doesn't help that Artemis is distracted by the fact that she's afraid that Cheshire will reveal that they are sisters. She totally loses it when Cheshire jokes about dating Red Arrow. Sports Master gets a delivery from a passing train while the others are fighting. Red Arrow and Aqualad try to track him down but he loses them fairly easily.
The group takes off after Cheshire but they are following a tracker that Artemis planted in such a way to send them on a wild goose chase. Artemis volunteers to stay behind and then goes after Cheshire by herself. She catches up to Cheshire but then so does Red Arrow. He didn't trust Artemis and placed a tracer on her quiver.
Sports Master delivers his package to Dr. Ivo, Klarion the Witch Boy, the Brain, and Monsieur Mallah. It contains the piece of giant starfish from 1.08 (Downtime) and 1.19 (Misplaced). They do something with it. Artemis breaks into the room where the villains are working but Klarion casts a spell than causes the villains to disappear.
Miss Martian, Superboy, and Zatanna amuse themselves (while the others are gone) by sneaking into Red Tornado's quarters. They discover a disused android body. Red Tornado comes back before they can leave. He isn't happy (if that is the right word) that they broke into his room. He takes it as a sign of distrust.
Excellent episode. I love the pickle that Artemis has got herself in. She's kept her family secret from the rest of the team, mostly because her sister (Cheshire) and father (Sports Master) are supervillains. Now that she has gone this long without telling them she worries even more about what they will say when they find out. Her paranoia over this secret leads to some wonderful character moments in this episode, which belongs to her if it belongs to anyone member of the team.
This episode was written by Peter David who has written a number of comic books that I have enjoyed.
