UnReal 3.05

Gestalt

August tries to blackmail Quinn. He doesn't like the direction things are headed. It's clear to him that Serena knows about what he did with Quinn and that she's no longer interested in him. Rachel does what she can to get him in even more trouble. August can see what's going on but it doesn't look good for him.

Rachel tries contacting her father, without success. Her mother has him medicated most of the time, just like she used to keep Rachel medicated. She tries getting to him through her mother but that proves to also be a dead end. During a break in shooting Rachel sneaks back to her parents' home and talks her father into coming with her. Her mother shows up as they are leaving. She doesn't take it well.

Quinn and Jay have a meeting with Gary, to pitch Passport to Dance to him. They show up but Gary's assistant tells them they will have to meet with one of his other assistants. Quinn is enraged and storms out of the building. She responds to Gary's behavior by shutting down Everlasting in the middle of shooting. Gary goes through the roof and is ready to fire Quinn. She manages to turn the tables on Gary after Madison reveals that she has the password to Gary's e-mail account.

Rachel brings her father back to the set of Everlasting. She wants him to live with her in her van. Dr. Simon tries telling her it is a bad move but she isn't listening. What she doesn't know is that Dr. Simon planted surveillance equipment in her van while she was getting her father.

There are a few too many quick twists and turns in this episode. The show needs more room to breathe. This is only the halfway point in the season. There is lots of room for things to change. I don't expect Madison and Quinn to remain allies to the bitter end. I don't expect everything to work out for Rachel and her father. I have on idea how things are going to turn out for Serena but the odds on favorite has to be that she will either choose no one or wind up with Owen. He's the only suitor with any screen time who doesn't have any dirt under his finger nails. That needs to change but I'm not sure if it will.

I'm still up for watching the rest of the season. The wild twists and turns are not enough to deter me. I wish that they weren't quite so plentiful but I'm still enjoying the show although maybe not as much as I hoped I would.
