On and On
Luke experiences a series of visions before he regains the ability to move and saves himself from drowning. He goes to find Piranha, whom he left in his father's care, only to discover that Piranha left. Bushmaster has Piranha and wants him to hand over the passwords to Mariah's accounts. Piranha says he can't do that but Bushmaster insists.
Mariah is losing it once again. She knows or suspects that there is a snitch but she doesn't know who it is. The snitch is Comanche but he points suspicion at Sugar, one of the other men working for Mariah and Shades.
Captain Ridenhour tries talking Misty into returning to the NYPD but she turns him down without giving it much thought. She reveals that she knows about his ties to Mariah. He thinks he can use that relationship to leverage Mariah into cooperating.
Misty and Luke go to investigate a lead and find Piranha's head floating in a fish tank.
Mariah finds out about Piranha's fate from Captain Ridenhour. He tries talking her into coming clean but she refuses. She discovers after he leaves that McIver has stolen all the money from her bank accounts. She gathers what she has, including her daughter, and goes home to get the cash she has tucked away in a safe. McIver gets there before she can leave.
Comanche meets with Ridenhour. Shades shows up. He followed Comanche. Comanche tries to make it look like the Captain was trying to backmail him, which is essentially true, and then shoots him. Shades then shoots Comanche for being a traitor to their cause.
Misty tries relaxing in a bar. She meets a guy. They start making out. She gets a call. She tries to ignore it but eventually she picks up. It is Detective Bailey telling her that Ridenhour is dead. She leaves the bar and heads to the scene of the crime.
McIver has his men tie up Mariah and Tilda, her daughter. He tells Tilda about what happened to his parents. He tells her about how they were partners with Mariah's parents before they were killed by Stokes. His men are pouring gasoline all over Mariah's home as he tells the story. He decides to let Tilda go just before he lights the match, sets the place on fire, and leaves.
Luke has a very moving moment with his father. He tells him about the visions he saw as he was sinking into the Harlem River. The guy who has been following Luke around, reporting on his whereabouts, comes into the church and tells Luke about the fire at Mariah's apartment. He runs there and saves Mariah.
Lots of interesting developments here. Piranha is dead. Comanche is dead. Mariah almost bought the farm. I wasn't too surprised when Luke came in and saved her. Ridenhour is dead. He got shot in the chest and I thought for a moment there that maybe he was wearing a bulletproof vest but it doesn't look like it considering how the rest of the episode went. Bushmaster is now in charge of Harlem's Paradise.
What will happen to Mariah? I'm sure she wants revenge. She wants to hire Luke but he will probably say no. He should say no. I can't imagine him saying yes, even though he also has a score or two to settle with Bushmaster.
