The Rickshank Rickdemption
The Federation has taken over Earth. Rick 137 is a prisoner of the Federation. He is being interrogated in a virtual space. They want his secrets. The rest of the family is back on Earth which is now controlled by aliens. Morty isn't fighting back. Summer gets fed up and digs up the body of the Rick that Rick and Morty buried in the back yard.
Summer grabs the trans-dimensional portal gun she finds with the body she digs up. She and Morty take off looking for their their grandfather, Rick 137. The first dimension they jump into is a post-apocalyptic world. Jerry is ripped and angrily destroys the portal gun. A strike team of Ricks shows up and kills the others but takes Summer and Morty to the headquarters of all the Ricks.
Rick 137 fools his captors into letting him go by shifting his consciousness into that of his interrogator. A team of Ricks shows up to murder him. Seal Team Ricks proves to be no match for Rick 137. He switches bodies with one of them and takes out all the others. Then he heads to the Rick HQ.
Rick 137 pulls the same body swapping trick a couple more times until he has freed Summer and Morty and destroyed the Federation. Jerry puts his foot down when he gets home. He insists that Beth choose between him and her father. She chooses her father. Rick goes a little bonkers once he is alone with Morty. I think it has something to do with the Szechuan Sauce (from McDonald's) that he covets so much.
At the very end of the episode Birdman is brought back to life, although he is name is now Phoenixperson. I don't recall him dying. That must have happened around the end of season 2. It's been a while since I watched that.
I enjoyed this episode but there's way too much to absorb in a single viewing. Unfortunately I don't have the time to watch it again any time soon. I would rather move forward with this series. It has been too long since I watched the previous season. I finished watching it in January 2017. Ridiculous.
Lots of fun. I'm eager for more but I hope that they calm it down a bit and don't do too much involving the Council of Ricks in this season.
