She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 2.07

Reunion

Bow disappears. He left a message but Glimmer is suspicious and insists on looking for him. Adora and Glimmer head into the Whispering Wood. Glimmer admits to Adora that she doesn't know anything about Bow's past.

Glimmer and Adora find Bow in a library that they didn't even know existed. They meet Bow's two fathers, Lance and George, both of whom are historians. They think that Bow has been off at a boarding school for historians. They want him to take over their library one day, which has lots of First Ones artifacts. He told them about Glimmer and Adora but he told them that they are also students at the boarding school. Lance and George don't like princesses or the rebellion.

Catra mobilizes her troops but doesn't tell them that Shadow Weaver escaped. She just tells them to be on alert for anything. Scorpia pushes and prods Catra until she finally admits what the problem is. Hordak's spy overhears the whole conversation.

Lance and George get very excited when Adora accidentally reveals that she can read First Ones writing. They show her an artifact. She reads the writing on it and it comes to life and starts to tear the library apart. It is looking for something. Adora transforms into She-Ra and Glimmer uses her powers to fight the critter. Bow eventually blows his own cover and joins the fight. The creature is subdued once it gets what it is after, a large shard of a precious stone, and returns to an inanimate form.

Bow has a chat with his dads and explains what he has really been up to. They are disappointed that he was lying to him but they take the rest of his news in stride. Lance and George help Bow and his friends figure out what the word (Serenia) they found in 2.06 means. Bow's dads think that it has to do with a constellation that can only be seen over the Crimson Wastes.

Catra is summoned by Hordak. He asks her about Shadow Weaver. She lies, not realizing that he knows. He is not happy.

The episode ends with Adora, asleep, back in Bright Moon. A shadow approaches her as she sleeps. It is Shadow Weaver.

Thoughts

It is unclear what Hordak does to Catra after she lies to him. He turns on a device but what does it do? Is it the portal? Entrapta didn't show up in this one, nor did any of the other princesses that weren't mentioned above.

This was a good one. I liked the humor in this one even if it was laid on a bit thick. Bow was caught between telling Lance and George the truth and being embarrassed by them. Catra also had some choice moments.

That's it for Season 2. The next season is only 6 episodes long. I wonder why they broke it up this way. The first season had a break point of sorts after the first 6 or 7 episodes. I wonder why they kept that one together but not this one.
