Doctor Who (1963) 15.03.04

Image of the Fendahl - Part Four

The Doctor shoots the Fendahleen, the others are frozen in fear. the creature, with Jack's shotgun, which is loaded with two shell that are full of rock salt. The creature is killed by the shotgun blast.

They discover that there is more going on in the basement. Thea has been transformed and now has gold skin and seems to be in charge. She transforms Ted Moss into a Fendahleen. The Doctor and Leela rescue Adam but it is too late for Max. He has already looked into her eyes.

The Doctor explains that they need as much salt as they can get their hands on. He sends Mrs. Tyler, Jack's gran, to get it. He posts Jack and Leela as guards against any more creatures. The Doctor and Adam shut down the machinery. The Doctor tells him about the history of the Fendahl and the Fendahleen.

Another Fendahleen come for them. Jack freezes. Leela knocks him out and takes the shotgun. She shoots at the creature, blindly, and kills it.

Mrs. Tyler returns with the salt. The Doctor sends Jack and his gran back to their cottage. The Doctor and Leela go down to the basement. They grab the skull and put it in a leadlined box. They throw containers filled with salt at the Fendahleen that try to attack them.

Adam turns on the machinery as the Doctor instructed him. He turns it off after 2 minutes, also as the Doctor instructed him, and high tails it out of there. The Doctor and Leela leave and head back to the TARDIS. There is a great explosion and the Priory is destroyed.

Thoughts

Leela has changed back into her usual leather outfit and has her hair down once again, at the end of the episode. K-9 also makes a brief appearance but doesn't get any lines. He only nods his head.

This is not a good story. The supporting cast is decent but I am disappointed that the villain is an inhuman, unspeaking creature. Thea doesn't have any more lines after she has been transformed. I've said it many times but the guest stars and the writing really can make or break a story like this.
