64 minutes
A five man jazz band make a run for it after one of them finds a singer dead in the locker room of the nightclub where they were performing. The police come after them and eventually catch up to them.
I saw this movie as part of the 2026 Noir City DC film festival at the AFI Silver Theater. I had not seen it before. Eddie Muller, the Czar of Noir, introduced the movie.
I don't recall if the title was ever explained in the course of the movie.
This is not noir. It was a little fun and silly in places. The music was good. It was a little too light and formulaic to satisfy me.
Notes
I have seen Noah Beery Jr., Lois Collier, and John Litel in other movies. Others actors that were in this movie that I have seen in other movies include Steven Geray, Claudia Drake, Jimmie Dodd, Steve Brodie, and John Kellogg.
