Sam asks Zahid to take care of Edison the Turtle while Sam is in Antarctica. Zahid says he will but then Sam gets angry with him. Zahid doesn't seem to take the task seriously. Sam goes looking for someone else to take care of Edison.
Doug pushes Casey to train harder. He doesn't like Izzy. He thinks Izzy is keeping Izzy from training hard enough to get into UCLA.
Izzy and Casey's relationship gets a little rocky when Izzy finds out that Casey updated Izzy's take home test, before turning it in. Izzy thinks Casey did it because she thinks Izzy is dumb. Casey tries to apologize but Izzy doesn't want to hear it.
Elsa bakes pies. She meets Izzy's mom for the first time. Elsa doesn't like her. Izzy's mom reminds Elsa of her own mom.
Izzy gets angry at her mother. She calls Elsa from a bus station and asks her to come get her. Elsa takes Izzy home, to stay with her and Doug and Casey. Izzy and Casey make up.
Sam discovers that Zahid is sick. He has testicular cancer. It isn't serious, yet, but he will need surgery. Zahid responds by hooking up with Gretchen.
Thoughts
This was another good episode. I really liked it. There were some moments that got to me. I think I'm enjoying Casey's story more than I am Sam's. I like Elsa more than I have in previous seasons. She seems less selfish.
