Coney Island Baby

Nadia returns to the present after getting into an argument in 1982 with Vera, her grandmother, over the stolen money. She tracks down Chez in the present. She wants to know what he did with the money. He explains that he doesn't have it. She leaves after getting a hint as to where she can find him in 1982.

Nadia returns to 1982 and tracks down Chez at a sports club where he plays racquet ball. She asks him for the money. He tells her that she (Nora)  has it. He gave it to her last night. He insists that he doesn't have it. Nadia realizes Nora must have spent it on the Alfa Romeo.

Nadia heads to her grandmother's place where she finds the car and meets Ruth. Together they return the car and recover the Kugerrands. Ruth is recently widowed and gives up her wedding ring in return for some of the coins when the dealer is reluctant to return them all.

Nadia calls Nora and leaves her a message on her answering machine. Nadia gets on the train back to the present, with the coins. She sees another train as she is riding back to the present. She sees Alan on the other train. She tries to get his attention, unsuccessfully. She then notices that her bag with the coins is gone.

Thoughts

The redheaded woman in the tunnel at the beginning of the previous episode was Nadia's grandmother.

I like this episode more than the first one of the season. I'm starting to see possibilities here. Nadia tried to change things but the Universe (?) won't let her. It took the coins from her. I'm not sure what comes next but I'm intrigued now. I wonder if the next episode will focus on Alan. He was barely in this one.
