David did kill someone but it was a security guard. whose body disintegrated after he fell from a cliff while trying to apprehend David Vincent.
David tries to convince the police that he is innocent but they think he is raving mad. He briefly meets Carol Tate, Morgan's daughter. She is brought in to the Coos County Morgue to verify that a body they found is that of her father. She can't tell from looking at the body. the police pressure her and, wanting to leave, she says that it is her father.
David escapes from the police. He finds Carol. He lies to her and tells her that he is out on bail. He tries to convince her that her father is still alive. She doesn't have time for him and leaves. She goes to Peninsula Labs after she receives a call from Louis Dunhill. He explains that her father is still alive but that he stole something and they need her help to retrieve it.
David tracks down Morgan Tate to a motel. David knocks on the door but Tate won't open up. The police show up and take David away. Tate sees David taken away and then sees a newspaper headline which explains that David is wanted for his murder. Tate calls the plant and talks to his daughter. He goes to the police department after that and secures Vincent's release. Tate knows that aliens are running the lab. He wants David's help in rescuing his daughter and retrieving what he stole, a list of the 11 leaders of the aliens on Earth.
David brokers a deal with the aliens, Morgan turns himself in provided that they release Carol. Carol goes back to her hotel. David returns to the lab and breaks in. He finds the file, with some help from Morgan. Morgan gets killed while they are escaping.
Thoughts
Ralph Bellamy played the part of Morgan Tate. I remember him best from Trading Places (1983) but he was in a few other movies I have seen from His Girl Friday (1940) to Pretty Woman (1990). This is his only appearance on this show.
This was a fun episode. I like how they finally brought in a character who didn't have to be convinced of what was going on. He already knew about the aliens, first hand. Ralph Bellamy was great in the role, he really sold it. I didn't really expect Morgan Tate to make it out of the episode alive, especially after he traded himself for Carol's freedom. The ending was a bit hokey. It seemed like they weren't sure if the show was going to get renewed or not but they wanted to put some sort of a stamp on it.
This is the final episode of the first season of the show. I have yet to decide if am going to give the second season a try.
