The Vegans set their plan into motion to establish a base on Earth. They genetically engineer a beast that is a combination between a bird and a snake. It is big like a saucer beast and they send it to Earth to wreck havoc. Duke Fleed, Maria, Kouji, and Hikaru find out about the beast and attack. It turns out to be very fierce.
Duke Fleed and Grendizer engage the beast. Grendizer and Double Spazer merge. Minifos join the fight on the Vegan side. They attack Maria in Drill Spazer and Hikaru in Marine Spazer just when Duke Fleed needs their help. He and Kouji in Double Spazer are forced to abandon their pursuit of the beast in order to help out their friends.
The beast gets away while Grendizer and the others are dealing with the minifos. Duke Fleed and the others continue to patrol the area looking for the beast. The Vegans use this moment of confusion to send parts under the sea.
Maria finds the beast and radios the others to let them know. She tries to fight it but it is too much for her and she winds up crashing. Kouji goes in to rescue Maria. He finds her unconscious. He is about to try mouth to mouth on her when she wakes up and slaps him. She calls him a pervert. He returns to Double Spazer.
Grendizer merges with Marine Spazer and together they fight the beast underwater. They defeat the beast with some help from Drill Spazer and Double Spazer but Duke Fleed spots an underwater Vegan base. Grendizer and and Marine Spazer destroy the underwater Vegan base and then head home.
The episode ends with the reveal that Zuril is still on Earth, under the sea.
Thoughts
There's a moment in this episode when the beast destroys part of Grendizer that one of the spin blades usually fly from. Later in the episode it is back, without explanation. What happened?
Kouji is horny for Maria. She claims that all you have to do is touch her to wake her up. Kouji didn't get a chance to touch her but she woke up.
They seem to be focusing these episodes more and more on the fights with the Vegans. The Vegans themselves, especially Gandal and Zuril, are getting more screen time than they did in the first couple seasons. Lady Gandal makes an appearance in this episode. There has been little to nothing to do with the ranch in the past couple episodes. I wonder if that is going to be the trend for this season?
