The Space Science Center uses an observation satellite to locate the underwater base that the Vegans are building. Grendizer and Marine Spazer tackle the underwater base. Drill Spazer and Double Spazer deal with the tunnel that the Vegans have built to allow them to surreptitiously deliver supplies to the underwater base.

Professor Umon goes to a scientific conference in Switzerland. He is escorted by Kouji, Maria, and Hikaru in their Spazers. The Vegans get there before them. One of them assumes the identity of Dr. Subyler, Professor Umon's one-time teacher.

Professor Umon speaks at the conference and urges everyone to launch satellites so that they can better monitor and protect the Earth from the Vegans. The fake Dr. Shubyler speaks next and denounces Professor Umon's plan. Everytone, at first, sides with Umon but in the end they agree with Shubyler.

A saucer beast attacks the conference center. Kouji, Hikaru, and Maria scrable to jump in their Spazers and deal with the deadly creature. It is too much for them but Grendizer and Duke Fleed (who stayed behind in Japan) show up and join the fight. The saucer beast is destroyed.

The attendees at the conference follow the fake Dr. Shubyler's lead and vote to launch missiles to destroy Professor Umon's satellite. Professor Umon, Daisuke, and the others head to Dr. Shubyler's home. They find him and his assistant, tied up. They free them and then Professor Umon announces his plan to launch another satellite.

Thoughts

This is a key episode according to Wikirak. I'm not sure exactly why. Maybe it will become clearer once I have watched more episodes.

The placard in front of Professor Umon (when he is at the conference) reads "G. Umon". I don't recall if they have revealed what his first name is.

This kind of felt like two episodes in one. The first one dealt with Vegan underwater base and the second one was centered around the trip to Switzerland.

I don't know how Grendizer got to Switzerland so quickly. They made it look like Switzerland was much closer to Japan than it actually is. Maybe there's a tunnel that leads from the Space Science Center to Switzerland.

There wasn't quite as much bickering among the Vegans in this episode as in other recent ones.

I was a little disappointed that they didn't show Zuril or another of the Vegans change into Dr. Shubyler. I thought that was going to be part of this one. It was just a generic Vegan and no one special that assumed Shubyler's identity for all I know.

This is a pretty good episode. I love how out of things get at the scientific conference in Switzerland. We don't like your satellite, Professor Umon, so we are going to launch missiles and destroy it!
