The fight between Grendizer (piloted by Duke Fleed) and the saucer beast (piloted by Lady Gandal) continues. Grendizer eventually gets the upper hand with some help from Kouji, Hikaru, and Maria. The body of the saucer beast is destroyed but the head and Lady Gandal survive. She pledges to kill the Great Vega Daioh and sends that message to the Space Science Center.

Professor Umon uses a satellite to confirm that the Vegans have a base on the far side of the moon. The satellite is spotted by the Vegans and destroyed before it can gather all the information they need back at the Space Science Center.

Grendizer is capabale of space flight but Double Spazer, Marine Spazer, and Drill Spazer are not. Professor Umon has a solution for that which he has been working on and is nearing completion. It is called Cosmo Special Spazer but it still needs a little more work before it will be ready.

A Citizen from a Distant Planet

Rubina, the daughter of the Great Vega Daio, leaves planet Rubi and comes to Earth. Her first stop is Skull Moon Base. The Great Vega Daio doesn't know what to do. He proposes to Zuril that he can marry her if he can keep her in line. Zuril isn't successful at that. Rubina tries to talk her father into making peace with Duke Fleed. She suggests that she and Duke Fleed could get married to seal the peace but her father doesn't want to have anything to do with her plan.

Rubina goes to Earth, unaware that Zuril is following her in a saucer beast. She finds Duke Fleed, who initially thinks that it is a trick and that she isn't who she says she is. Even after he has been convinced of her identity he still can't help but think of how the Vegans, her people, killed his parents.

The Vegans are pondering what to do next, how to try and kill Duke Fleed when a missing saucer beast shows up at Skull Moon Base. It is piloted by General Morros. The Great Vega Daio give Morros a chance to rest and then send him on a mission to kill Duke Fleed.

Farewell the King and the Father

or Tears from the deep of the heart

Maria is fooled by Lady Gandal into thinking that her father is still alive. Lady Gandal uses a telepathic device to encourage Maria to go looking for her father. Lady Gandal sends Commander Shuler to Earth, in a saucer beast, disguised as King Fleed, Maria's father. 

Maria cannot be dissuaded. She is convinced that her father is still alive. She leads Duke Fleed and the others into danger. She is convinced that the Vegans are holding her father prisoner. It isn't until Commander Shuler is killer, and his disguise falls away that Maria sees that she was wrong.

The Sacrifice of a Son to Save his Father

Zuril's ship is stuck on Earth. It lacks the fuel needed to return to Skull Moon Base. He requests that someone be sent with enough Vegatron fuel to get him and his crew back to the Moon. Gandal and Vega Daioh send Zuril's son, Zuril Junior.

Maria in the Snow Storm

Zuril starts to build a new base of operations on Hokkaido, the northern most of the four large islands of Japan. He has his second in command, Kane, send out a saucer beast to wreck havoc. in the area around the mountain where the Vegan base is being built.

Danbei is on Hokkaido buying horses and spots the saucer beast. He rushes to get a message to the Space Science Center. The Vegans catch him and chase him through the snow. They abandon the chase when they think he was killed after falling off a cliff.

Destroy the Marine Base

Zuril gets pushed by Vega Daio to finish off Grendizer. Zuril launches a swarm of bomb carrying balloons. They strike the Space Science Center. Professor Umon orders Kouji, Maria, and Hikaru to head out in Double Spazer, Drill Spazer, and Marine Spazer and deal with the balloons. They do just that and find the source of the balloons but Grendizer shows up when things get to be a little too intense for them.

Grendizer and Marine Spazer combine and dive underwater in pursuit of the vessel that was launching the balloons. They are attacked by two saucer beast but they manage to make it back to surface and then back to the Space Science Center.

Death at 400 Meters Below Sea Level

An earthquake beneath the sea causes problems for the Vegans. One of their undersea monitoring stations gets pushed to the surface. They send a saucer beast to destroy it. The saucer beast also destroys a passing ship.

Kouji Kabuto in a Heroic Position

Zuril comes up with a plan to devastate Tokyo. He and Gandal plan to blow up a uranium storage site. The hope is that the wind will carry waves of radioactive clouds into Tokyo killing everyone without damaging the city. Gandal puts Commander Sadon in charge of the mission.

The Grendizer team leaps into action when the Space Science Center detects that there are missiles headed for Tokyo. They get there in time and destroy all but one of the missiles which slips past. They assumed that Tokyo was the target for the missiles. Kouji goes after the one missile that got away.

The Vegans test a Vegatron bomb on an island in the Pacific Ocean which is about the same size as Tokyo. The island is so badly damaged that it sinks into the ocean. Kouji is sent in Marine Spazer to investigate. 

Kouji arrives in the spot where the island used to be. He sees lots of dead fish floating on the surface of the ocean. He dives into the ocean to investigate further and is attacked by minifos. He destroys a few of them but they outnumber him and cause him to crash into an island. They are about to destroy him when Grendizer shows up and chases off the remaining minifos.

Kirika's Disappearance in the Ice

Commander Kirika develops a freezing ray. She is continuing the work of her brother who is now dead. Vega Daio orders her to use it to capture Grendizer and kill Duke Fleed. She has her doubts but agrees to do it.

The Day the Swans Came

The Vegans put bombs in swans. They test their latest plan by launching the swans, which they are able to control remotely, at jet airplanes and high speed railways. Both tests are successful so they decide to proceed. 

One swan (that has been fitted with a bomb) gets injured. Goro finds the swan and talks his father into helping him care for it. They take it to Professor Umon in the hope that he can help it, even though he is not a vet or bird expert. Professor Uomn tells them there's nothing he can do.

The Vegastos Plan with the Spies

Zuril comes up with a new plan to destroy the Space Science Center. He brings in four Vegans named Toko 1-4. Toko 4 impersonates Danbei, while the others three work with Zuril to infiltrate the Space Science Center.

Their first plan is to destroy it with a bomb. They sneak in and plant a bomb but a bomb detector gives the security system enough time to shield vital areas of the Space Science Center from the bomb.

Toko 4 takes out Danbei by knocking him into a gorge. It isn't until much later that Kouji and Maria find him. Toko 4 has infiltrated the Shirakaba ranch by then and fooled others, including Goro, his son. Once Danbei has returned to the ranch there is some confusion as to which is the real Danbei.

Tokyo Tower Will Be Destroyed at 7 P.M.

The Vegans use a plan devised by Zuril to attack Tokyo. They arm rats with Vegatron explosives and then send them into Tokyo. The Vegans give the Japanese people an ultimatum: surrender or else Tokyo will be attacked.

The Grendizer team tries to find the Vegan threat. They are unable to prevent the attack on Tokyo Tower. Duke Fleed sees the rats near the tower and alerts the others. The Grendizer team jams the signal that the Vegans are using to drive the rats into the city and use another signal to lead them out of the city where they destroy them.

Young Deceived Commanders

or Ha! The Boy Commands

or Le commando (or The Commando)

The Vegans send five young warriors to kill Duke Fleed. They have been told that Duke Fleed has brainwashed the people of Earth. The young warriors (or commandos) are escorted by Dageel, an adult. He takes them to an air base and helps them to fool the guards at the gate into letting them in. Once they are in the base they incapacitate everyone else, including Professor Umon who is there to help inspect the base.

Maria is also with Professor Umon. She sets off the alarm when the five warriors aren't looking. They suspect her of being not human. Duke Fleed and Kouji show up in Grendizer and Double Spazer, before they get a chance to interrogate Maria. They are ready to kill Duke Fleed but he manages to convince them that he isn't evil and hasn't brainwashed the people of Earth.

The forces of Vega have a backup plan. They send a saucer beast to kill Duke Fleed. The saucer beast kills one of the five warriors and abducts the other four. The warriors are killed accidentally by the saucer beast which is piloted by Dageel. Grendizer and Double Spazer work together and destroy the saucer beast.

The Appearance of a Fake Grendizer

The Vegans bring another saucer beast to Earth. They disguise it by making it look exactly like Grendizer. They also make the pilot look just like Duke Fleed. The real Grendizer attacks a group of midifos. The Vegan ships flee into space. Greendizer follows them. The Vegans have a trap ready for Grendizer out in space. They surround the giant robot with magnetic asteroids that immobilize Grendizer.

The Ferocious Beetle

A Vegan task force, led by Zuril, arrives in Tokyo at night. They set up in an abandonded building. They are spotted by Kiyoshi, a young boy, who is home alone with Budo Budo, his pet beetle. Zuril sees the boy watching them.

The next day Zuril finds Kiyoshi with his beetle in a park. Zuril hypnotizes the boy and takes him and Budo Budo back to his temporary headquarters.

A Fake Doctor Causes a Crisis

The Space Science Center uses an observation satellite to locate the underwater base that the Vegans are building. Grendizer and Marine Spazer tackle the underwater base. Drill Spazer and Double Spazer deal with the tunnel that the Vegans have built to allow them to surreptitiously deliver supplies to the underwater base.

Professor Umon goes to a scientific conference in Switzerland. He is escorted by Kouji, Maria, and Hikaru in their Spazers. The Vegans get there before them. One of them assumes the identity of Dr. Subyler, Professor Umon's one-time teacher.

Vega Daio puts Zuril in charge of the next mission, building out their underwater base. This angers Gandal but he agrees to follow their leader's orders. the Vegans launch a tsunami at the coast of Japan. The tsunami devastates an industrial area. Professor Umon is puzzled because there is no sign of the Vegans and the tsunami seems unnatural. He sends Hikaru to investigate the damage in Marine Spazer.
