Then, the Angels Sang
The Arcadia finally encounters the main Mazone battle fleet. The Mazone first try to destroy the Arcadia by landing troops on the outer hull who attach bombs to the Arcadia. The troops cause some damage but they are for the most unsuccessful.
The Arcadia is recovering from that attack when they are approached by a medical ship that is in need of supplies. Captain Harlock agrees to help them but when the ship gets very close to the Arcadia it opens fire. Captain Harlock moves the Arcadia away and opens fire on the "medical" ship, destroying it.
The Arcadia charges the Mazone battle fleet but then discover that the Mazone have put civilian ships up front. Captain Harlock and Daiba go aboard one of the damaged civilian ships they find a woman about to give birth. They take her and her husband back to the Arcadia.
Queen Lafresia sees an opportunity and wants her forces to attack but then the civilian Mazone ships surround the Arcadia. After the woman has given birth she, her huband, and their newborn baby boy return to their ship and the civilian Mazone ships depart.
Thoughts
This was a decent episode. I realize that I am nearing the end of the show. There are just two more episodes to go. I doubt that there will be any further side stories. I think that they are milking this final confrontation for all they can get from it.
