Orange Is the New Black 6.02

Shitstorm Coming

Cindy writes a note that she wants to pass to Taystee, warning her that the guards are trying to frame them. She writes it as a word scramble. She loses it but Berlin sees what happened. Cindy meets with her lawyer. She tells him that she had nothing to do with the riot.

Coates and Dixon go for a drive. Dixon is worried about what has happened and about Coates. Dixon doesn't know it but Doggett is in the trunk of the car. They stop at a motel and get a room. Doggett stays in the trunk.

Cindy get the flashback spotlight, back to when she was in high school. She was pregnant at the time by her high school boyfriend. Her father tries to get her to tell her the name of the guy who impregnated her. She refuses. She has the baby and then leaves her mother to look after the baby.

Mendoza meets with investigators. She blames a lot of things on Ruiz.

Chapman sees Morello while she is waiting in line for medication. Morello is also locked up in Max.

The investigators have been given a short time frame to get their investigation wrapped up. The plan is to give two of the inmates (who were found in the pool room) life sentences and three others ten plus years for the riot and murder of the two corrections officers.

Ruiz gets a chance to talk to the investigators. She puts the blame on Mendoza, after she learns that Mendoza has already spoken to them.

Mendoza talks one of the corrections officers into taking her, Flores, and another inmate to the chapel so that they can pray. She prays in coded language in order to pass a message to Flores to put the blame on Ruiz.

Chapman gets a new cellmate. Chapman talks a good game to keep her new cellmate on edge. Chapman finds out towards the end of the episode that her cellmate is in there for killing her children.

Cindy and her lawyer meet with one of the investigators. The investigator accuses her of killing Piscatella. Her lawyer pulls Cindy aside and asks if there is anything she didn't tell him.

Flores meets with the investigators and implicates Ruiz as a leader of the riots.

Cindy and her lawyer meet with the investigators a second time and admits that she was in the pool room. She claims that her fingerprints are only on the gun that was found because she was pulling it away from Taystee who had it pointed at Piscatella.

Mendoza and Dayanara get transferred to gen pop. Mendoza finds our that Dayanara pleaded guilty to murder.

Caputo meets with Healey who is very mellow and encourages Caputo to follow suit. Caputo cleans up his act. He invites Fig over for dinner. She thought it was just for sex. They have sex but she tells him that she took his job, which kind of ruins the moment. Caputo calls later and asks to get his job back.

Doggett gets tired of sleeping in the trunk. She gets out and knocks on the door of the room that Dixon and Coates are staying in. She walks in and gets in bed with Coates. Dixon is stunned.

Thoughts

Dixon, Coates, Caputo, and Fig are the only prison officials from earlier seasons to show up in this season. Red was not in this episode.

There is still no sign of Vause. There was some mention that some of the prisoners in Litchfield were transferred to facilities in Ohio but so far no names have been mentioned.

There's a lot going on here. I like it so far. Will this investigation take more than a few episodes? What will be the focus of this season? It is still unclear to me. There may be more threads that have not been revealed yet.
