Moses (John Boyega) and his South London gang rob Sam (Jodie Whitaker) as she is walking home. They are attacked while the mugging is still in progress by what they soon discover is an alien creature. Moses kills it and takes it with him, showing it to anyone and everyone. Soon there are more alien creatures crash landing on Earth.
Moses and his gang are out looking for more aliens to fight when Sam shows up with the police. Moses is arrested but the police officers are killed by aliens moments later. Moses, Sam, and Moses' gang work together to defend themselves against the aliens. They are also have to deal with High Hat, an angry crime boss whom they piss off when they crash into his car.
I know John Boyega from his role in episodes VII (The Force Awakens), VIII (The Last Jedi), and IX (The Rise of Skywalker) of Star Wars. I know Jodie Whitaker best as Doctor Who although I have yet to watch any of her episodes of that show.
Franz Drameh played Dennis, one of the gang members. I know him from Legends of Tomorrow where he played Jax, one half of Firestorm.
This is fun. It isn't great. I had heard good things about it. It was exciting at times. I don't regret watching it but I don't anticipate watching it again anytime soon.
