Vicious, who hasn't been seen since 1.13 (Jupiter Jazz - Part 2) tries to take down the leaders of the criminal syndicate. His attempt fails and they lock him up.
Gunmen from the syndicate attack Spike and Jet while they are in the Loser Bar on Mars. They aren't sure what to make of it but they fight back. Jet gets shot in the leg. Shin, Lin's brother shows up to help them out. He tells them know about what happened to Vicious. He stays behind while they escape.
Spike reaches out to Faye for help. She refuses and hangs up on him. Faye runs into Julia, Spike's ex-girlfriend, who is on the run from syndicate gun men. She helps Julia out, not realizing until later who she is. Julia leaves her a message to give to Spike.
Faye returns to the Bebop. She delivers the message to Spike. He ignores her for the most part until she invokes Julia's name. He doesn't get any time to ponder the message. Syndicate ships attack the Bebop. Spike and Faye fight them off in their spacecraft.
Vicious escapes from the clutches of the crime syndicate. Exactly how it happened is a little unclear. Vicious kills the leaders of the syndicate and declares himself the new leader.
Spike heads to the graveyard where he finds Julia waiting for him. She pulls out a gun and points it at him.
