Crabs in a Barrel
This is it. The final episode of the season. I think Earn finally turned a corner in this one. He did something. He dealt with things. I wasn't expecting that.
Alfred is getting ready to go on tour, in Europe, with Clark County. Earn and Darius are going with him. Earn isn't sure about his status with Alfred. He tries to get Alfred to sign with a lawyer but Alfred doesn't like the lawyer who doesn't have much of a track record managing anyone.
Earn is in charge of getting everything ready to go. He hires the movers who pack up Alfred's place. He helps Darius get his passport renewed at the last minute. Earn has some unfinished business of his own. He sees Van and Lottie, whose teacher recommends that they put her in a better school. He pays the movers a little extra to get the work done on time.
They barely make it to the airport on time. Earn realizes he has a gun that he promised to get rid of, in his bag when they are in line at TSA. It doesn't look good. He pulls a fast one and gets away with it. Alfred sees what he did and is impressed and pleased. He isn't ready to fire Earn but he needs him to step up, just like he just did.
Thoughts
I'm a bit annoyed that it took as long as it did for Earn to wake up. I'm a bit more annoyed that Earn spent the whole season in a downward spiral. I'm glad to see that there seems to be hope that he won't crash and burn. This isn't my favorite episode of the season but I thought it was a good way to end it.
