Future Man 1.04

A Fuel's Errand

Josh, Tiger, and Wolf dispose of the bodies of the Biotics in the incinerator. Tiger and Wolf want to go back in time to kill Kronish when he was a baby. Josh says no but he gets overruled until they discover they have very little fuel for the TTD (Time Travel Device) left and that he is a janitor. They leave him behind and go to look for fuel on their own.

Tiger and Wolf don't have any luck locating any fuel for the TTD. Josh eventually catches up to them. He's got an idea on where they can get some help making more of the fuel. They go the video game store where Josh used to hang out. One of the clerks (Awkwafina) used to date a professor of chemistry. Josh talks her into giving them his contact information.

Professor Karofsky (Martin Starr) runs a lab, it looks innocent enough at first but it turns out to be a meth lab. Karofsky offers to help them but when he sees how powerful the fuel is he takes it by force. Wolf is hanging out with a couple of the professor's men and doing meth while Josh and Tiger are in the lab with the professor. Tiger gets an idea about where they can find more fuel, while Josh is being interrogated by the professor's men.

Tiger attacks the professor's men. Wolf comes crashing through the wall, high on meth, and joins the fight. Karofsky almost gets away but Josh catches up to him and beats him up. Tiger reveals her plan: capture one of the Biotics' TTDs.

The episode ends with the reveal that Skarsgaard, one of the cops from 1.02 (Herpe: Fully Loaded), is still looking for the people who killed his partner back in 1969.

I am still enjoying this series. This one felt a little less jokey and a little more serious than some of the previous episodes. It had some good laughs but it is starting to feel like this story is going somewhere. I hope it gets there eventually.
