Better Call Saul 4.04

Talk

The episode opens up with a flashback. Mike remembers a moment when Matty, his son, was still a boy. It is a good memory. The scene then shifts to the present. Mike is at a support meeting with Stacey.

Jimmy gets a job offer from a cell phone dealership. He turns it down. He later changes his mind when he needs something with which to distract Kim. He calls the place back and accepts the job. He is running a store in a strip mall by himself but it doesn't get any traffic.

Kim goes to the courthouse to listen to cases. The judge notices her and asks her to come see him during his lunch break. They talk. He tells her to beat it, in a nice way, but when court resumes she is still there, observing.

Mike grabs a bite to eat with Anita. They talk about Henry, one of the guys in the support group of which they are both members. Mike is convinced that Henry is a liar. Anita bets him that it isn't the case. Mike wins the bet but angers Anita, Stacey, and everyone at the meeting else in the process of doing it.

Nacho fingers someone as the person that shot him and killed Arturo. The cousins go in and shoot up the place. They head south of the border, after they are done, to lay low for a while. Nacho meets with Gus who tells him to get some rest. Nacho goes home to his father's place. His father wants him to leave until he sees what kind of shape Nacho is in.

Mike conducts some more inspections. Jimmy meets with the guy who stole the statuette for him. Jimmy gets an idea. Mike meets with Gus, who has a job for him or at least that's what Mike thinks.

Thoughts

Are Nacho's days numbered., possibly but I don't think that Gus wants him dead just yet. I think that he is still of value to Gus.

Once again, Jimmy did not play a big role in this episode. Howard was nowhere to be found. Will he ever be found again on this show? Kim was in this one but it is unclear to me what she is up to. Jimmy mentions that he has 10 more months until his license will be reinstated.

The cousins do not mess around but the scene where they do a lot of shooting lacked tension because it is known that they will survive this series.

This is another solid episode. It wasn't terribly exciting but it was solidly goof. I'm ready and eager for more of this show.
