Better Call Saul 4.10

Winner

The episode opened with the day that Jimmy finally became a lawyer. Chuck stood next to him and vouched for him. That evening there was a party for Jimmy. He sings karaoke with Chuck, although it takes him some effort to talk Chuck into sticking around and singing with him.

In the present Mike is looking for Werner. He has a number of guys working with him but it is Mike that makes most of the discoveries that leads to Werner. Lalo catches on that something is going on. He follows Mike. Mike eventually gets wise to the fact that someone is following him and loses him in a parking lot by jamming the ticket machine as he leaves.

Wiedersehen

Kim and Jimmy pull a scam to replace some documents that were already filed for Mesa Verde. They fool the clerk they meet into "doing them a favor".

Nacho and Lalo, the new Salamanca, go to visit Hector. Lalo gives his uncle a bell. They also visit Los Pollos Hermanos. Lalo has a private chat with Gus. He tries to suggest that they could team up and take down Don Eladio. Gus isn't interested.

Werner wants to go home for a few days to visit his wife. Mike says he can go home once the job is done.

Jimmy goes to his hearing to get reinstated. He rubs the three person committee the wrong way. They vote against reinstatement. Jimmy gets angry and goes off on one of the committee members. Jimmy later off on Kim.

Werner uses some of his know how to fool the security cameras and makes a run for it. He leaves a note for Mike.

Better Call Saul 4.08

Coushatta

Jimmy takes a bus east to Coushatta, Louisiana, Huell's hometown. There and along the way he gets people to write letters to the judge. The letters all talk about how great a person Huell is and beg the judge not to throw the book at him.

Nacho is in charge of the Salamanca operation in Albuquerque. He's the enforcer and deals harshly with those who don't day their debts.

Mike takes the men working on the space under the laundry out to a strip club. They have fun but Kai gets in trouble. He tries to get hands on with one of the dancers. Werner, the foreman, causes a different kind of trouble. While Mike is dealing with Kai, Wener starts talking about the project, without getting too specific, to a couple of locals.

Something Stupid

The episode opens with a montage. Eight or nine months go by. Kim gets her cast off and her career takes off with Schweikart & Coakley. Jimmy continues to sell burners or drop phones from a van, even after the year is up and he is eligible to get his law license reinstated.

The work on the tunnel goes on. Nerves start to get frayed. It is taking longer than anticipated and the workers need some time off. Jimmy wants to get rid of Kai but the foreman needs him because he's his demolition expert.

Jimmy gets approached by a plain clothes cop who wants him to stop selling phones on the street to criminals. Jimmy says no. Huell sees Jimmy getting accosted and hits the man with a bag of sandwiches. The cop has Huell arrested and goes for a heavy sentence.

Piñata

The episode opens with a flashback to 1993. Jimmy and Kim are both working at HHM delivering mail. Kim is going to school at night at University of New Mexico. Jimmy has no interest in studying the law. He is more interested in the Academy Awards betting pool.

Kim, in the present, decides she's had enough of M&A law. She meets with Richard Schweikart. She makes a deal with him. She comes in as a partner and in exchange gives them the Mesa Verde business. She eventually tells Jimmy. He is not pleased but does his best to cover up his true feelings.

Mike gets everything set up for the men who are going to build the lab in which Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will eventually work for a time. The men doing the work will be there for a while so he wants to make sure that they are comfortable. Mike gets the feeling that one of the men is going to be trouble on the first day that they show up.

Quite a Ride

The episode opens with a flashback to when Saul was getting ready to leave town at the end of Breaking Bad.

Kim starts to take some defense work on the side. She blows off Mesa Verde, which makes Paige angry. Kim apologizes. Paige gives her another chance. She expects that Kim will treat Mesa Verde as her most important client and come running at a moments notice.

Jimmy buys up a bunch of the cell phones from CC Mobile, the store where he works. He goes out and sells them on the street for cash. Everything goes well until the end of the night when he gets beaten up and robbed. of the cash he made selling the phones.

Talk

The episode opens up with a flashback. Mike remembers a moment when Matty, his son, was still a boy. It is a good memory. The scene then shifts to the present. Mike is at a support meeting with Stacey.

Jimmy gets a job offer from a cell phone dealership. He turns it down. He later changes his mind when he needs something with which to distract Kim. He calls the place back and accepts the job. He is running a store in a strip mall by himself but it doesn't get any traffic.

Kim goes to the courthouse to listen to cases. The judge notices her and asks her to come see him during his lunch break. They talk. He tells her to beat it, in a nice way, but when court resumes she is still there, observing.

Something Beautiful

Victor and Tyrus stage a scene which makes it look like Arturo and Nacho were the victims of a hit. Nacho has a couple bullet wounds. One is in his side but he calls the cousins. They come and pick him up and take him to the doctor, the same doctor that Mike turned to for work. Nacho's life is saved but the doctor can't be sure that there aren't serious internal injuries.

Mike turns down Jimmy's job offer. He doesn't want it. Jimmy calls the doctor and finds someone else who is willing to steal the alpine shepherd boy figurine from the copier business office. Jimmy envisions the job as being quick and easy but it turns out to be anything but due to one unforeseen detail. The manage of the copier business is sleeping in his office because his wife is angry with him.

Breathe

Gus has Victor check up on Hector Salamanca, find out how he is doing.

Jimmy gets up early and goes to interview for a couple of jobs, sales jobs. He gets one offer but he turns it down and laughs in the faces of the guys who offer it to him.

Nacho goes to see his father. He tries to tell him that he has taken care of everything but his father doesn't buy what his son is telling him. Nacho soon finds out his father may be right.

Mike has a meeting with Lydia. She doesn't like what he did and wants him to stop. He sees it differently and says he will continue to act like a security contractor because it reinforces his cover story. Lydia calls Gus and asks him to get Mike to stop it. Gus does not. 

Better Call Saul 4.01

Smoke

Gene (aka future Jimmy) collapses at the Cinnabon. He is taken to the hospital. He didn't have a heart attack or stroke. He is released. He gets a bit of a scare while checking out when he is asked for his driver's license and social security number. Later, he gets scared enough by the cab driver that comes to pick him up at the hospital that halfway to his destination he gets out and walks.

Mike quits his job at the parking lot. He gets his first paycheck from Madrigal. He goes to the warehouse, sneaks in with someone else's badge, and takes stock of how things are run at the warehouse. He provides a report once he has gathereed enough evidence of employee behavior that does not conform to company standard operating procedure.

Don Hector is taken to the hospital. Nacho meets with Juan Bolsa, Don Hector's boss, and is ordered to keep things running smoothly. He gets rid of the extra pills after the meeting, unaware that one of Gus's men is observing him from a distance.

Chuck died in the fire. Jimmy mopes around. He doesn't seem to know what to do or how to act. Howard comes to see Jimmy, after the funeral. Howard tells him about the fight he had with Chuck and how he forced him out of HHM. Jimmy's mood picks up considerably once Howard confesses.
