Knowing Her
Jillian Armstrong, an ex-girlfriend of David, hires the Blue Moon Detective Agency to try and find a missing piece of her jewelry. Jillian is separated from her husband Harlan. David wonders if Harlan might have something to do with the missing locket.
David goes to visit Jillian. She almost falls off the balcony to her hotel room when the railing falls apart. Later she has to have her stomach pumped after she overdoses on sleeping pills. She is taken to the hospital where she recovers.
Maddie goes to visit Harlan Armstrong. She comes away from the meeting with the impression that Harlan is just an emotionally wounded man. David thinks Harlan had something to do with Jillian's near death experiences.
Jillian and David meet up after she is released from the hospital. They are talking and kissing when she spots Harlan's car. She goes over to the car alone. There's a struggle. A gun goes off and Harlan is dead.
Maddie has doubts about Jillian. David still believes her. Maddie's doubts are confrimed when she gets a visit from the detective in charge of the investigation into Harlan murder.
There is a wild car chase involving a Hearse. David considers apologizing to Maddie but decides not to.
Jillian was played by Dana Delaney. I've seen her in other things. She is probably best known for China Beach. She also was the voice of Lois Lane in numerous DC Comics cartoons.
This was an okay episode but it lacked some of the charm that the last three episodes exhibited. There is some banter between David and Maddie but it felt like less than usual. This episode had a more serious feel to it than most, especially in scenes involving Jillian.
