Thoughts
I'm pretty sure I saw this one before, way back when. I'm not sure that I saw it the first time it aired but I'm sure that I did see it before.
Leonard was played by Richard Belzer. I know him best from Homicide: Life on the Streets where he played Detective Munch. Detective Reuben King was played by James Avery who is best known for playing Uncle Philip on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back in the 1990s.
There are a few fourth wall breaking moments, the biggest of which comes at the end when the camera pulls back and the whole cast and crew of the show sing The First Noel. I noticed Richard Belzer in the crowd singing. Vincent Schiavelli is also in the crowd singing he was also in 1.05 (Next Stop Murder) and was married to Allyce Beasley who played Agnes DiPesto.
This episode was 40 minutes long. Most episodes at this time were 48-50 minutes long. I'm not sure why this one was just 40 minutes.
This was a fun episode. I enjoyed watching it for the first time in probably 35 years or more. It felt a little weird watching a Christmas episode in October.
