Fargo 5.10

Bisquik

Gator wanders blindly. He finds his way into the bunker and then out through via a ladder. He is eventually found by the FBI.

Roy kills his father-in-law. Dot shoots Roy in the gut, but he survives long enough to kill Deputy Farr. Roy goes to prison.

The story flashes forward one year.

Lorraine visits Roy in prison and makes it clear that she has bought influence in the prison and that what remains of his life will not be pleasant.

Dot, Scotty, and Indira visit Deputy Farr's grave. They place flowers on it. Indira goes back to see her boss. Dot and Scotty go home. Wayne is waiting for them and they have a visitor, Ole Munch.

Munch insists that there is unfinished business between himself and Dot. She refuses to accept what he has to say. She invites him to stay for dinner and gets him to help her to help her make biscuits.

Thoughts

If there is a direct link between this season and the other seasons of this show or the movie then I missed it.

I don't understand why Deputy Witt Farr has to be killed by Sheriff Roy Tillman. His mission, the one Indira gave him, was to protect Dot. I don't understand why he went after Tillman by himself.

I was a little disappointed that there was no final moment for Gator, after the jump one year ahead.

This episode really is as simple as I described it. I'm not sure what exactly I expected from this episode but what I got fell a bit short of my expectations of how this season should end. It was very subdued and at the same time a bit heavy handed with messages.

I think the first season is still my favorite but this is in the running for my second favorite.
