Before the Credits: Batman helps the Challengers of the Unknown battle a giant spider on what looks like Dinosaur Island. The Challengers are there to investigate a meteorite which crashed on the island recently. Batman leaves once the spider has been defeated. The Challengers are overwhelmed by Starros that emerge from the meteorite.
After the Credits: Blue Beetle learns about the origins of the scarab.while visiting the planet Oa, home of the Guardians of the Universe, with Batman. The duo travel to Oa to deliver Evil Star, an intergalactic criminal, into the hands of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force. The Green Lanterns, led by Guy Gardner, are more than happy to take Evil Star off their hands but then demand that Blue Beetle surrender himself.
Batman and Blue Beetle are stunned. Blue Beetle refuses to surrender. The Green Lanterns explain that the scarab is a piece of alien technology created by an organization calling themselves the Reach. The scarab seems like a tool but it can also take over and force it's user to do things against his or her will. Blue Beetle refuses to accept this explanation and runs off.
The suit takes over and makes Jaime locate and lower the force field protecting Oa. The Reach attacks. Batman and the Green Lanterns fight back but they are overwhelmed until Jaime manages to reassert control over the scarab and helps them defeat the Reach.
Thoughts
The Green Lantern Corps previously appeared in two episodes in season 1.
I wasn't crazy about this episode. It felt like the lesser of the three Blue Beetle episodes.
