Atypical 4.07

Channel the Cat

Sam wants Zahid to break up with Gretchen. Zahid refuses. He's having too much fun with her. 

Sam is hired to draw a picture of a cat wearing a cowboy hat and chaps. He's only doing it for the money. He doesn't really like cats.

Casey is feeling the pressure. She is having trouble relaxing. She has been doing something to her fingers. something that she uses bandages to cover up.

Paige wants to have sex with Sam but he gets it in his head that he needs to abstain until he gets the picture of the cat completed. Paige takes some advice from Gretchen but it blows up in her face.

Zahid eventually realizes that Gretchen is really no good for him. He breaks up with her after she misses his doctor's appointment. She said she would be there.

Elsa spends some time with her mother. She takes her mother a pie. Her mother is nice for once. Elsa is very happy until she discovers that the person she's been talking to isn't her mother.

Paige apologizes for her mistake. She figures out how to lure Sam away from the drawing board.

Casey finally breaks. A scout from UCLA is at one of Clayton's track meets. Casey freezes and doesn't start running When the starting gun goes off.

Thoughts

The way Doug is talking to Casey is getting on my nerves. He's smothering her. It is at the very least not helping her. It may be the cause of her anxiety. I'm not sure what she is doing to her fingers but whatever it is, is not good.

What's the deal with Elsa's mother? She seems to recognize Elsa but then she tells her that she isn't her mother. I don't understand. I'm not even sure what to think.

This was another good episode. I'm much more eager to see how things turn out now than I was earlier in the season.
