Sgt Bilko tries to get his platoon on TV but Captain Buckmaster, the talent scout for the Army on Parade, turns them down. Bilko gets the idea that they need a song that will dinstinguish them. He wants to write a song about the motor pool. He gets the tune from a song that one of his men likes to hum in the shower. Bilko writes words for the song and they get on TV but they discover just before they go on that music is from the Song of the Signal Corps.
Thoughts
This is a decent but not great episode. The part where Biko and his platoon worked to convince Colonel Hall that he came up with the song was a bit much. It wasn't hard to see where it was going to end, well before the story got there.
Notes
David White plays Captain Buckmaster. This is his second appearance (of 4) on The Phil Silvers Show. He was last seen on 1.21 Bilko's Rest Cure. I know him best from Bewitched where he played Larry Tate.
Terry Carter plays Private Sugarman. This is his 5th appearance overall on show but his first one in season two. He was in over 90 episodes of the show altogether. I know him best from the original Battlestar Galactica TV show where he played Colonel Tigh.
