Sgt Bilko cooks up a scheme to convince the top brass at the Pentagon that his unit is burned out and needs some R&R. He gets everyone in on the plan but he doesn't tell everyone what is going on. Captain Barker does his best to derail Bilko's plans. Major Friend comes from the Pentagon to investigate Fort Baxter and is stunned by what he finds.
This one was fun to watch because it was so absurd.
Captain Barker was played by Nicholas Saunders. This was his first appearance on the Phil Silvers show. He appeared in a total of 30 episodes of the show, always playing the role of Captain Barker.
Major Friend is played by David White. This was his first appearance on The Phil Silvers Show. He made 3 more appearances on the show, each time playing a different character. His most consistent work on television was on Bewitched where he played the part of Larry Tate. He appeared in 191 of the 254 episodes of Bewitched. He also made guest appearances on The Twilight Zone, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and lots of other shows from 1949 to 1989.
