The Expedition
(aka The Daleks - Part Five)
Ian grabs Dyoni by the hand and starts to take her with him. He says he is going to see what he can get in exchange for her from the Daleks. Alydon decides he's had enough and punches Ian in the face, knocking him down. Alydon is disappointed in himself but (after he sleeps on it) he decides to help the Doctor and his companions recover the fluid link.
The Daleks try taking the anti-radiation medicine that they took from Susan. They discover that the Daleks who are given the medicine become ill. Most of them die. They realize that radiation is what they actually need. It is helpful rather than harmful to them. The Daleks make plans based on their discovery to detonate a nuclear bomb.
The Doctor, Ian, and Alydon come up with a plan. They will split into two groups. One group will go back to the city to create a distraction while the other group cuts through a deadly swamp and then attacks the city from the other side. The Doctor and Susan go with the first group of Thals. Ian and Barbara go with the Thals that are going through the swamp.
The episode ends as one of the Thals is attacked by a swamp creature while he is refilling his water bottle.
Thoughts
This episode wasn't too heavily padded but at the same time it didn't feel as if very much happened in it.
