Gordons

Vause hides the iPhone that Baddison gave her. She manages to get through a search for contraband without it being found. Baddison gets out of medical. She lets Carol know about what she's got going and about the help she got from Vause.

Dayamara tries to help Daddy get some more oxy from D block. It means crossing enemy lines. She turns to Flores for help. Flores asks her for help getting her Diablo's sperm. They work out a deal but some of the women from D blcok find out about what's going on and make trouble for both of them.

Taystee and Ward, the guard whom Taystee knew before she went to prison, share the backstory spotlight. The flashback is about a night they spent working the late shift together at at Storky's, a fast food joint. It contrasts with how things are going in the present. At first Ward tries to help Taystee by encouraging her to give an interview but when she hears what Taystee says during the interview she changes her mind about helping her.

Red finds out that Berlin is in Florida. Red gets angry and then looks to get even. She tries to find someone who also has it in for Berlin. This leads her to Carol.

Aleida continues to try selling the pyramid scheme nutritional supplements. She gets a lot of doors slammed in her face. She even tries selling outside Litchfield. Hopper tells her she's going to have to shut it down and then asks her out on a date.

Chapman finds out that Luschek is the one who gave Baddison an iPhone. She uses that information to try and blackmail him into organizing a kickball game.

Thoughts

There is zero mention of the betting pool in this episode. There is little mention of the murder charge that Taystee is facing. Suzanne, Fig, Caputo, Doggett, Flaca, Cindy, and Ruiz are not seen in this episode. Berlin appears but doesn't have any lines. Dixon appears briefly but there's still no sign or mention of Coates.

The title of the episode refers to the shoes that Taystee was wearing in the flashback. They get stolen but the joke's on the robber because they aren't Jordans, they're Gordons.

I don't think things are going to end well for Red. She seems consumed by a desire for revenge and moving into Carol's orbit. Did Flores get pregnant? Nichols was helping her out but they got interrupted by several inmates from D block. Will Aleida ever unload those herbal supplements? Is she going to hook up with Hopper? What is in Daya and Daddy's future? Baddison looks like she is on her way up but Daddy looks like her prospects are headed in the opposite direction.

This was a good episode. It wasn't great but it was a good one.
