Zuril comes up with a plan to devastate Tokyo. He and Gandal plan to blow up a uranium storage site. The hope is that the wind will carry waves of radioactive clouds into Tokyo killing everyone without damaging the city. Gandal puts Commander Sadon in charge of the mission.

The Grendizer team leaps into action when the Space Science Center detects that there are missiles headed for Tokyo. They get there in time and destroy all but one of the missiles which slips past. They assumed that Tokyo was the target for the missiles. Kouji goes after the one missile that got away.

Kouji destroys the missile but two things happen, one of which he sees and the other he does not. He sees that he almost killed a family and feels awful about it. He doesn't see something drop from the missile just before he destroyed it. Commander Sadon and his team are in the object that dropped from the missile. They head head out on foot toward the uranium storage base.

The Grendizer team returns to the Space Science Center where they learn from Professor Umon that the uranium storage base was the likely target of the missiles. Kouji heads out on motorcycle to patrol the area around the uranium storage base. He crosses paths with Commander Sadon and his men, who are disguised as hikers, but takes no notice of them. It isn't until later when he goes back to check on them and detects Vegatron radiation coming from their camp site that he puts the pieces together.

Kouji radios back to the Space Science Center and reports his findings. The other members of the Grendizer team quickly arrive on the scene. Commander Sadon's men are killed by the Grendizer team but the Vegan Commander escapes back to his saucer beast and then gets into a fight with Grendizer. He has explicit orders to attack the uranium storage base but he is much more interested in defeating Grendizer. The saucer beast badly damages Grendizer. Kouji gets into Drill Spazer with Maria and single handedly destroys the saucer beast.

Thoughts

I think that this is the first time that Kouji has destroyed a saucer beast.

It is a bit of a mystery to me how Kouji got into Drill Spazer. Maria was flying it as the time near Kouji but she didn't stop. Did he jump? It must have been moving much faster than he was. It makes no sense at all.

Commander Sadon was wearing a disguise when he was dressed as a hiker. He looked very different than he did when he was in uniform, so much so that I couldn't even tell that they were the same character.

Yet another episode with an insubordinate Vegan commander. This one was okay and not terribly weird.
