Parks and Recreation 6.16

The Slogan

Leslie has trouble letting the citizens of Pawnee select a new slogan for the city. Andy accidentally discovers Ron's secret life as a jazz saxophonist. April and Donna help Tom find a location for his Italian restaurant.

This show has gotten way too vanilla. It feels too much like they are going for the happy ending instead of for laughs. There are some laughs but on the whole it feels much more bland than it originally did. Just for the record, vanilla can be great. I'm talking about metaphorical vanilla, not the real stuff.

Parks and Recreation 6.15

The Wall

Leslie's attempt to bridge the divide separating Pawnee and Eagleton ends up causing just the opposite. Bees are released from the wall dividing the two towns. All but one of the victims are from Eagleton. Everyone thinks it was elaborate prank. Unrelated to the incident, Leslie gets a job offer in Chicago.

Tom asks Ben for some help in coming up with an idea to pitch to an angel investor. Ron bonds with his newborn son while remodeling part of city hall.

Middle of the road. Not perfect. Not awful. A few good laughs but nothing that really impressed me.

Anniversaries

On the eve of the 1st anniversary of Leslie's and Ben's marriage she tries to gets people of Pawnee and Eagleton to get happy about the merger of the two towns. Ben tries to surprise Leslie with gifts (a day early) but she is too busy to spend time with him. Instead he ends up spending time with Larry doing many things that he intended to do with Leslie. April tries to get back at Donna by writing anonymous Yelp! reviews about her.

A fun episode. Probably not my favorite but lots of fun.

Parks and Recreation 6.13

Ann and Chris

Leslie throws a big party for Ann and Chris who are leaving Pawnee and moving to Michigan. In typical Leslie fashion the party is completely over the top. Ben agonizes over what gift to give Chris.

Great episode. Lots of fun although Ben's anxiety did get to be a bit much.

Parks and Recreation 6.12

Farmers Market

Leslie wants Ben (as city manager) to ban the guy who sells chard at the farmers market using barely clothed dancers. Ann is flipping out over how nice Chris is being during her pregnancy. Andy agrees to perform at a kids birthday party.

Excellent episode. Nice balance between the three plots.. My personal fave was probably the Ann and Chris plot but all three were fun and funny.

Parks and Recreation 6.11

New Beginnings

Leslie returns to the Parks Department only to discover that things have changed. She immediately tries to put her stamp on how things are being done. This includes interfering with Tom's plans to open a lemonade stand in a city park.

Ben takes over as city manager. He tries cracking down and playing pranks on the Parks Department employees at the same time but it kind of backfires on him.

Ann and Chris drive an employee at a jewelry store nuts when they dither over whether to get married or not.

Ron wins it all. Speaking of which is Lucy Lawless going to show up on this show ever again? (Answer: According to IMDB her only remaining appearances on the show are in the two-part finale to season 6)

Parks and Recreation 6.10

Second Chunce

On Leslie's last day on the city council she considers running for office again. Tom tries to decided what to do with the money he made from selling Rent-a-Swag to Dr. Saperstein. Ann and Chris learn the sex of their as of yet unborn child from Dr. Saperstein.

Funny. Probably not my favorite episode but still fun with some good laughs.

The Cones of Dunshire

Ben invents a new game (the Cones of Dunshire) and gets a new job after getting fired from Sweetums Corp. Donna and Tom help Ron sell his cabin. Leslie gets some help Chris taking on Councilman Jamm one last time before she is ousted from office.

Overall very funny. Lots of good laughs in all the plot threads.

Parks and Recreation 6.08

Fluoride

Leslie gets into a battle with Councilman Jamm and the Sweetums Corporation over what should be added to the Pawnee Reservoir, fluoride or sugar water. Chris tries to learn life lessons from Ron while he learns how to build a crib. April upsets Donna when she picks the wrong spirit animal for her.

Overall a good one. The A story worked the best for me. Hard to believe it had been about six months since I last watched this show.
