Matt has a chat with Sister Maggie. She's tired of him feeling sorry for himself. She mentions that she once thought about not being a nun, when she was just starting out on the path that led her to her current life. Matt has a couple flashbacks to his youth. He's angry now (and was then) because God never answered him prayers, never spoke to him.
Fisk gets stabbed in prison after the information he provided leads to the take down of the Albanian mafia. Agent Nadeem gets the credit for getting Fisk to talk but he also has to fight to stay on the Fisk detail. He talks the higher ups into moving Fisk to a safer location.
Karen is still working at the Bulletin. Her boss talks sends her to the hospital to interview Neda Kazemi, a socialite whose father was assaulted the night before. She learns from Ms. Kazemi that her father would have been abducted or killed if it weren't for some guy wearing a black mask. It was Matt and that's what Karen suspects but she doesn't have anything else to go on.
Karen goes to see Foggy and tell him what she found. She finds him at a family celebration at his father's butcher shop. Foggy doesn't believe that it is Matt. It could be anyone. It's going to take more than a rumor to get Foggy to accept that Matt isn't dead.
The transfer of Fisk to a safehouse doesn't go so well. The convoy of vehicles gets ambushed. The FBI agents, including Nadeem, are all killed or seriously injured. Fisk thinks he's dead when someone comes through and kills the men who killed the FBI agents.
Matt finds out about the attack on the convoy after he leaves the hospital. He was there visiting the Kazemis. He overhears a conversation as a wave of ambulances arrives with survivors of the ambush. No word as of yet on Fisk but he was still alive when he was last shown on screen.
Thoughts
This one moved a little too fast for me. A number of the scenes felt very clunky. I'm not sure whether to blame the acting or the directing. I'm not ready to give up just yet but if this episode is any indication of what to expect from the rest of the season then there's a good chance I won't watch the whole season.
