Rebecca Bunch is desperately unhappy. She runs into Josh, a guy she had a summer fling with 10 years ago. He is getting ready to move back home to West Covina, CA. Sparks fly and she quits her job in New York City just as her boss offered a promotion, and moves to West Covina.
Rebecca gets a job in West Covina working for a law firm. Daryl Whitefeather, her boss, wants her to represent him in court. He is in the process of getting divorced. Rebecca inadvertently insults Paula, one of her new coworkers, and immediately gets on her bad side. Rebecca tries texting Josh but he doesn't respond. She tracks him down to a sports bar but just misses him. Greg, the bartender, knows where he will be the next night and offers to show her if she will go with him to the party where Josh will be.
Rebecca goes to the party with Greg. She can't stop asking Greg about Josh, who doesn't show up to the party. Paula tracks Rebecca down at the party, after she breaks into Rebecca's computer. Paula is ready to rub Rebecca'a obsession with Josh in her face. She has a change of heart after she hears about what Rebecca gave up in moving to West Covina in the hopes of finding Josh. She promises to help Rebecca.
Thoughts
I'm not sure about this show. I've wanted to give it a try for a while now. I'm glad I did and I might watch more of it but I'm not totally sold on it just yet. I do like the use of musical numbers.
