The fight between Grendizer (piloted by Duke Fleed) and the saucer beast (piloted by Lady Gandal) continues. Grendizer eventually gets the upper hand with some help from Kouji, Hikaru, and Maria. The body of the saucer beast is destroyed but the head and Lady Gandal survive. She pledges to kill the Great Vega Daioh and sends that message to the Space Science Center.

Lady Gandal does her best to stay true to her word. She returns to Skull Moon Base. She shoots the Grear Vega Daioh once but Gandal wakes up and destroys Lady Gandal before she can finish the job. Gandal then takes off in another saucer beast and heads to Earth.

Grendizer and the Spazer ships deal with Gandal. The Great Vega Daioh launches all of his ships from Skull Moon Base, which they destroy as they are leaving it. The head straight for Earth.

Grendizer and the Spazer crew are ready for him. Duke Fleed's three allies have launched in Cosmo Special Spazer. Together they do battle with and destroy the Vegan fleet. They return to Earth briefly but Duke Fleed and Maria, his sister, have decided that it is time for them to return to their home planet of Fleed. Their human friends are all in tears but they leave anyway.

Thoughts

Danbei and Goro are in this episode but do not play a major part. Like Kouji and Hikaru, they don't want the Fleed siblings to leave.

This was a very action packed episode. The ending got me a little emotional.

This is a key episode because (a) the Vegans are finally defeated, (b) Cosmo Special Spazer flies for the first time, and (b) Duke Fleed and his sister leave Earth for good.

I just found out about the new Grendizer show (Grendizer U) that is supposed to be out later in 2024. There are a couple teaser trailers out there but I have no idea how soon it will be available or on which service.

This is the final episode of this series. There are a few Grendizer films but I don't think they fit in with the show's continuity. Overall I am happy that I went back and watched this series which I first saw several episodes of more than 40 years ago. I can't see myself watching this series in its entirety again but I might watch selected episodes of it. I have the notes and that is enough for me.
