Somewhere Under the Rainbow

Kathleen Kilpatrick hires the Blue Moon Detective Agency to catch a man who is pursuing her. She doesn't know who the man is but she claims that he's after her pot of gold, and that she's a leprechaun. Maddie doesn't want to take the case. David does. Maddie washes her hands of the case and lets David take it.

David and Kathleen go out to dinner. She starts to get nervous after dinner. She's convinced that they are being followed by a man even though there doesn't seem to be anyone following them. She tells David she killed a man the night before. He thinks she's acting crazy but then a man shows up and knocks David over the head.

The police show up and the man runs off. David and Kathleen go to see Maddie. Kathleen falls asleep on Maddie's couch while David tells Maddie what Kathleen told him about killing a man. They go to the morgue, the next day, and take a look at the body of the man she claimed to have killed.

David and Maddie return to the office. Kathleen is waiting for them at there. Maddie has had enough and decides that she needs some proof. The three of them get in the car and go looking for Kathleen's pot of gold. They wind up digging for it under bridge which Kathleen says is a rainbow. Kathleen finds it just as Maddie is getting fed up with the expedition.

Maddie takes Kathleen back to her place. David goes and does some investigating. He discovers that Kathleen's father was a bank robber who along with two other men, both of whom are now dead just like Kathleen's father, robbed a bank in Ireland.

Kathleen decides that she needs to return to Ireland. The man who hit David over the head shows up at the airport and chases them around. He catches up to them. Kathleen lets him take her luggage. Kathleen says goodbye to Maddie and David. Kathleen hands David a key and then gets on her flight.

The key is to a locker at the airport. David and Maddie open it up and find the pot of gold.

Thoughts

Alexandra Johnson played the part of Kathleen. She only has 20 screen credits according to IMDb. Most of the are for guest spots on various American TV shows. The most recent is from 1991. There is no biographical information about her on IMDb. My guess would be that she is American although the character she played in this episode is Irish, or maybe she really is a leprechaun.

Danny Dayton played the part of the coroner. He was in six episodes of the Phil Silvers Show, including three that I've watched in the past couple months. 

This was a fun episode even though it was kind of silly. It isn't great but it was worth seeing. I liked the way Kathleen kept David and Maddie on their toes for most of the episode, wondering about who she really was. Even after they confronted her with the truth she still seemed to have an air about her that made them wonder.
